Below is my response to Mrs ***I am also attaching some supporting documents: This is in response to *** ***’s complaint and request for a refund of the planning fee The planning fee that was paid is for measuring, creating a layout in the IKEA Home Planner, creating a
total parts list, and an estimate for assembly and installation of the IKEA cabinetsWhen Mrs *** requested a refund, she was denied because we completed the plan package for herAlso, IKEA gives a refund when the customer purchases the kitchenWe do not refund if the customer decides not to purchase the kitchenYou will see the kitchen layout, estimates, notes from planning appointment and kitchen services brochure attached I am going to address the reason for not breaking down our estimates line by lineWe do not break down because each estimate that is created for each home is unique and specific to the homeThere are no two homes alikeWe also have minimums to meet for each projectThis means that if we line item detail electrical for example, that single line that the customer decides they want us to do now has to meet a minimum that we are chargedThe price just changedThe general contracting estimate that we provide is done free of charge and gives the customer one more contractor to receive an estimate fromThere is no obligation to the customer to use our servicesThey are free to use who they want for GC services and installation of the cabinets As far as the communication is concerned, please keep in mind that every time an estimate is in need of revisions, we press the reset buttonWe do our best to answer questions and send the revisions back to the customer in a timely mannerIn Mrs ***'s case, we were getting ready to make adjustments to her estimate for a second time for a total of different estimates that would eventually be written for herOnce Phil was able to speak with her on the phone she indicated that she would not be using our servicesPhil and I also were discussing how we wanted to move forward with this particular project because it appeared that the estimate would be revised to the point of just having our electrician and plumber doing some work and we felt that the customer would be better off hiring their own plumber and electrician directly at that pointWe did not have an opportunity to discuss this point with Mrs *** as I stated before, she had decided not to use our services Jennifer B*** The Kitchen Helpers 503-205-
