Review: In May I ordered a bed from a catalog at Ladd and Hall store [redacted] there were no floor samples. I couldn't see by the photo what the cherry wood looked like. The salesperson showed me a table and said the wood looked like that. It was pretty. I also ordered a mattress and foundation my husband and I liked. In July I got delivery. I called the salesperson up to ask about final payment and told her I didn't like the wood graining; it didn't look like the table she showed me. Also the mattress edging was frayed and it felt harder than the floor sample with a center ridge. My husband & I went back & chose the floor sample mattress and foundation as a replacement since that was comfortable. I said again that I didn't like the bed. I was told that special orders couldn't be cancelled, which was on the sales slip; I didn't notice. It was arranged on Sept.30 the sales rep. of the bed manuf. [redacted] came to my house along with the store owner. I was told that the wood looks like it suppose to. I mentioned that when I put the mattress and foundation on the floor, I felt no ridge down the middle. There are wood blocks bolted under each slat in the bed frame. When it was being set up, I was told that they are necessary for the warranty. The bed is uncomfortable. I feel that the ridge is from the bed construction. The owner said he'd talk about this with the rep back at the store. I called on Oct.10 and the owner said he hadn't heard back from the rep. I called on Oct.30 and the salesperson who sold this all to me was rude and nasty. She wouldn't let me finish a sentence. She said she was tired of arguing and that this was over with. I asked her to have the owner call me back, and I never heard back. I feel I was misled about the wood appearance and the bed is uncomfortable.Desired Settlement: Since I feel that the salesperson mislead me about the what the wood looked like and that the bed is uncomfortable, I want it to be taken back and to get a refund. Since we chose the floor sample mattress as the replacement, we would keep that.

Regarding the solid cherry queen bed by [redacted] of [redacted], the customer states she does not like the graining of the wood because it is not like the solid cherry table she was shown. No two grains of wood are exactly the same; that is impossible. Our inspection of this bed show the fraining of wood as it is expected to appear. If you compare it with other pieces in her bedroom set, those pieces are inlaid veneer, not solid cherry. The wood pieces under the bed are center legs found in all quality bed frames. The sales rep and store owner found this bed to be perfect quality with no defects. All necessary information was given to XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX by XXXX upon purchase of this bed and mattress. XXXX has worked here for 31 years and 11 years in other furniture stores. This bed is a poster bed custom order for XXXXXXXXXX and someday she will realize its beauty and quality.

I am rejecting this response because after purchasing a third different type of mattress for this poster bed, a ridge is still felt down the middle of the bed. We feel no ridge when the mattress and foundation is placed on the floor. [redacted] mentioned that this may disappear; it has not. This ridge makes the bed uncomfortable, which makes it difficult to "appreciate" its fine quality.
