Initial Business Response /* (1000, 14, 2016/11/22) */
Here is my side
I never charged her for any laborShe ordered the wrong door, went on vacation and I sent weeks trying to convince Lowe's that the discontinued door she bought was a recent purchase and was missing all the hardwareI let
the homeowner know before we started that I had a very small window to get the project completedI tried on several occasions to arrange a return trip to address her issues and she was either unavailable or on vacation
We informed her the doors were in bad shape, but we would do our best to strip and refinish them
When we finally stripped the doors we found that these doors were damaged sometime in the past and most of the bottom half of the door was wood filler
She claimed the we damaged her floors which is impossible since the only work we did in the house was toupaint, and that was over drop cloths
-before we started this project, she said she was disappointed with the way her floors were scratch up after she had paid a company to come in and do a "sandless" refinishShe told me she talked to the company who did the work and they told her it was because of the toys her kids play with on the floorsShe continued to tell me that she was "giving up" on that company to fix the problems they caused
This homeowner has been giving many extras without a change in priceAnd since we were never able to connect to complete the work, She has never been charged for any laborAll money given prior to starting (and then some) was exclusively used for materials that went directly back to her projects
Since she we as never billed for any labor and she has received all the materials she pitched, I am not too sure how she can have a claim
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 16, 2016/11/23) */

First of all, the scratches I am referring to and the scratches I addressed with the other company are completely unrelated and you know thatWhen you came back to my house to address my concerns with your work and the mess you left in my house, you agreed to fix the scratches in the entry wood floorYou and your mom stood there and told me you would fix them and that you would finish the doors because they were not done, in addition to the storm doors not being installedWe discussed how the scratches in the entry way wood floor by the front door were from when you took the door down to re-hang it againWe also talked about the paint you got on my table and in my kitchen sink, and all the debris and paint cans left on the floorIt was very frustrating to come home to that knowing that I had a clean house before I left for vacationWith regard to the wrong door, I contacted you prior to us leaving for vacation to verify the correct door was orderedI even told you I wanted to make sure you had everything you needed before we leftYou are the person installing the door, so I rely on you to know what size storm door is necessaryI emailed you the one I purchased and you replied to the email, so I assumed you had reviewed and it was the right sizeRegarding the hardware you still have not dropped off to our house after repeated requests, I called Lowe's mill-work department when you stopped returning our calls and they sent me the hardware for the door within weeksTherefore, I have a very hard time believing you tried everything you could to get it to us as soon as possibleNow, we have to pay someone to install the hardware on the door, in addition to having to fix the scratches in the entry wayEstimate #XXXXX that I received does not break down materials and laborWe were billed *** for 'Replace Storm Door' and *** for 'Refinish Wood Entry Door' - for a total of *** and we paid *** I believe a refund is necessary on part of the 'Replace Storm Door' price because the work is not finished and we have to pay someone to have the hardware installed on the storm door

I talked with [redacted] and here is what happened...
Our bid included materials. She is correct that the 16 tiles came to a little over [redacted] However, she left out the cost of the grout and mastic; these cost [redacted] a SUBtotal of [redacted] ...

Of course she also forgot to add in tax of 7% bringing the total to [redacted] All of this material she has on hand and was the agreement her and Geana had when we left the job. As for the [redacted] that was a small markup to run for materials. As our bid included materials for a turnkey project, she doesn't get a receipt, and all sales are final. She is more than welcome to try to take them back to Lowe's for a credit.
As a gesture of good will, am willing to mail her a check for [redacted] if this matter can be closed.
Respectfully,
[redacted]

(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
Are you really trying to make me pay for the grout and mastic that had to be removed from my walls? I had to PAY the other contractor I hired to remove the mastic from our walls before they could redo the tiles. I never agreed to anything about this with Geana. I told her that I wanted the tiles and mastic removed. She sent [redacted] over to remove the tiles and sand the mastic off the walls on March 13th. I sent a text to Geana later that day telling her that he removed the tiles but didn't sand the mastic off the walls. She replied "Omg what a [redacted] sorry about that."
So no, I do NOT have the mastic or grout as they both had to be removed from my walls because of the poor job your company did installing the tiles and I should not have to pay for your mistake. If you would like to close the matter, please send me a check for [redacted]
