The Laptop Shop

Excellent service. Reasonable prices. Had new battery installed in an iphone & charge port replaced. Had occasion to visit another time for issue created by an iphone update - phone froze. Staff is efficient- knowledgeable, and I would not hesitate to recommend the shop.

Review: Screen repair was completed and now the device screen is black.

The following is a recap of the events:

- July - device was dropped and screen cracked.

-07/17 - device was delivered to shop for repair and prepayment was made of $140.00.

- 07/20 - device was picked up with assumption that it was fixed.

- 07/20 - after leaving and working with the device identified that screen was not responding to every touch. Thought that maybe it would resolve it shelf so used it for 2-3 days.

- Returned device to shop explaining issues and concerns.

- After calling several days was notified that a new screen needed to be ordered from China. This is the fist IPad Mini 3 that they had replaced the screen and they did not know that the button was different then the previous versions. That is why a screen with the button attached would need to be ordered. This is the first time they worked on this device model.

- 08/13 or 08/14 - Device was picked up again with the assumption that it was fixed.

- 08/15 - Identified that the fingerprint functionality no longer worked and the power on button function to put the device to sleep no longer worked.

- beginning of the next week call was made to shop to make them aware of the issue. Was advised that they told us that the finger print function would no longer work. However, the 2 people that picked up the device do not recall being told this. Concerning the sleep mode was advised that we could send the device back but it would be an additional charge to have replaced. I felt that it was something that they had done that caused the button to no longer function properly. After picking up the device the first time the screen was replaced the button functionality all still worked. After replacing it the second time it did not. Still told that they would not have damaged that while replacing the screen. No resolution was made.

09/12 - The tilt functionality also was not working since the device was returned. On this day the manual process was used to tilt the screen to view a movie. After viewing the home button was selected which normally will return the screen to portrait view and to the home screen. It went to the home screen but did not go to portrait view. The device would no longer launch applications. Now the screen is black and will not response to powering on.

09/12 - contacted the shop for advice on what may have happened. Was advised that perhaps the lcd is bad. It can be replaced for $200. Explained that the device has not been working properly since it was returned and that a prior call had been made. Was advised that it worked when it left the shop so it could not be their issue. Not sure how they can claim that it was not their issue when this is the first time they worked on this device model and had to replace the screen twice.Desired Settlement: Would like the device repaired to function as if new from Apple at no additional cost.

Review: I have had trouble with ITunes, after I signed up with I tunes Match, and may songs went

from 2290 to 425. My husband took in the laptop upon my request, and asked them to fix the files, then switch the music to Winamp so that this would not happen again. They downloaded Winamp, and put the 425 songs on it. I could have done that by myself. I sent my husband with a note saying I wanted them to fix my music files so my 2290 would be usable again. My husband went back the next day, and they doubled the exact same 425 to make it 850: the exact same songs. I said obviously they were unable to help us, and my husband went back and asked for a refund of the $75, and they refused. I will now have to recopy and redownload most of the 2290 songs.Desired Settlement: My desired outcome is a refund of my $75. I received absolutely nothing for

my money.
