This company is generally terrible in their practices, and this particular location is slightly better than the overall average for the nationwide firm
That said, they utilize used car salesman tactics to trick you into bad deals
I originally went to them because of a low Groupon priceI knew full well they would try to upsell me, and that I would likely spend more for an upgraded packageThe starting price was half the cost of other providers, so I took a chance
The upsells they pushed were:
Upgraded laserok, bite
Punctal plugsupon research and phone calls, it turns out this is not something that everyone needs, is typically only put in post procedure if problems arise, and as it turns out not something that I needed at all
An expensive lifetime warrantycosts a grand more, only stays valid if you get ANNUAL exams either with them for 99$ a pop, or thru your own provider with adequate timely notice of resultsFailure to come in for or submit an exam voids the warranty
Final strawI had to pick up my own medications at my own costThey assured me insurance would cover it, it didn't, and before I left the office they insisted on a deposit
If the price isn't covering your costs, change the price and stop acting so sleazy
I went with another company that costed a bit more, but had NONE of this nonsenseI didn't want to trust my eyes to used car salesmen(No refund on deposit.)
Obviously I cannot comment on the skill of the doctorHe seemed nice, but so did everyone I dealt with

On Feb 18, I made a $deposit to have Lasik surgery, but canceled my appointment more than hours before it was to take placeI was told my deposit would be returned On June 14th I called and was told it had been credited, but would take weeks to show on my credit cardOn July 26th I checked my card and still had no refund
I called again a couple months later and was told they would look into itI called in Feb and was told the woman would talk to the accounting people and call me backShe did call back a couple days later to tell me she wasn't able to call them because they were not there
Over a year and multiple calls later I still don't have my deposit back

Although office manager
Hilary H*** did fax, on December 3rd, 2015, a copy of the original invoice with what may be correct medical codes scrawled in pen across it, this is only part of the information I have requested, starting more than months earlierShe did not include the Institute's Tax ID number, and at this point I have spent more than hours trying to get information from Lasik Vision Institute that should have been readily available from any business providing a medical serviceThe $which my insurance should have reimbursed me is still outstanding and I have no reason to believe that I will receive it (if at all), in less than another weeksThe information faxed to me on December 3rd (followed by a phone call from Hilary asking me to confirm that I had received it, though she did not bother to contact me for almost a month after receiving the original Revdex.com complaint) is a totally inadequate response to the time and monetary inconvenience I have been subjected to
I still require the Institute's Tax ID#, & may need further info depending on the response of my insurance coAt this point I also believe monetary compensation is due for the time, aggravation, and economic inconvenience I have experiencedAfter contacting Revdex.com November 30th to find Lasik Vision had not responded to them after 2+ weeks, I discussed the situation with the Oregon Attorney General's OfficeThough I have not yet filed a complaint, I may, if satisfaction is not forthcoming

The codes provided to Ms*** in December are consistent with those provided to other patients for use with insuranceIf they are not sufficient for Ms*** insurance company, she is welcome to call the corporate office and speak to the retail accounting department to discuss in more detail specifically what her insurance company is looking for and what we are able to provide
