I went to LVI to get my lasik surgery done which was on July 1st 2015. Somehow their equipment was not working and they cancelled my appointment for that day. the next available date was july13 but I had to move to south carolina on 10th July. So whole lasik surgery was cancelled. initially I gave $1000 dollar deposit to them which they said they are going to refund. But they also asked for the expensive prescribed medicine for surgery date which is not used and will no longer be used because I am unable to get surgery done. I went to [redacted] to return the medicine but they wont take back prescribed medicine. The prescription medication is prescribed for surgery regardless if they have it or not. We have offered to reschedule his surgery and the medication is good for 1 year. He can choose to get the surgery done in our South Carolina offices and use that medication.Consumer Response the surgery would have been successfully completed if your equipment was working perfectly fine. You didnot even send out notice that your equipment was not working and told me when I came to your office at scheduled appointment date. you should have provided me another favorable appoint and also the compensation for not able to do my surgery on scheduled date.I have never asked for any compensation for the damaged it has caused to me. All I am asking is for the expensive medication that you have prescribed and I have purchase and which is not good to me. you can sell this medicine to another candidate. I just need refund for my medicine and I will ship this medicine to you once I get payment.Final Business Response We offered the patient to do surgery the next day in Charlotte or to have it done in 1 of our 2 locations is South Carolina. We do not refund medications for an elective surgery. Our equipment did not have proper readings for us to feel comfortable with doing eye surgery. We notified the patients as soon as we had all the information from the technician on site. I am sorry the patient does not feel supported, but we wish him the best and he can still elect to have surgery done in 1 of our 2 locations in South Carolina where he moved to.
