The Law Office of Curtis D. Colaw

I asked Colaw to represent me in a child custody matter. I have had primary custody of my son the past 5 years. My ex recently became involved with someone and everything has changed after co-parenting for years.

He claimed that he had 50% time with our son and that I was now trying to take that away because I didn't like his girlfriend. I had more than enough proof that this was completely inaccurate. I had letters from childcare since birth that stated I was responsible for our son - along with sign in and out sheets, I had a letter from work that I recently asked for a demotion in order to not have to travel and be home with my kids. I had a letter from the doctor of my son's father stating that even after we were separated I still participated in his healthcare for the well-being of my son. None of the documentation/proof I provided for my case was ever presented to the Judge.

The mediator agreed in my favor made the recommendation to the judge.

Then it was time for our attorneys to talk. Colaw spoke two sentences. His statement was along the lines of "I believe we are here because the two woman do not get along".

This was #1 completely inaccurate and #2 defended every accusation that was made up by my son's father.

I was literally shoving the paperwork in front of him asking him to present it and he did absolutely nothing.

I paid him to defend the other party. I would have been much better off on my own.

I'm not saying it would have changed things but at least the proof would have been presented and my son would not be suffering.
