Hired Ms. W for a Child Support case in Feb 2018. Retained her services for $2500 to get jurisdiction of my case dismissed. One of her attorneys had shown up to the Feb court date which was continued until May. In May Ms. W was present for the court date, and the day after (9 May) I had received an email from Ms. W that my case had been dismissed. On 10 May, I received a response email from Ms. W that my child support garnishment will terminate immediately as well. On June 20th, 2018, I sent an email to Ms. W, Ms. B, and Ms. C inquiring about my case because I hadn't received official notification on the order. Was told they would get back to me. A month later I still hadn't heard anything. Finally, on 15 Aug, Ms. B replied with a copy of the order withdrawing modification of my child support. However, nothing had been dismissed at all and she stated that my garnishment will continue, and I needed to file another motion to dismiss. I inquired about it directly to Ms. W who said the courts messed up and she would fix it. Then received Agreement for Legal Services letter on Sept 4, 2018 stating that I had a $900 balance and needed to remit an additional $1500 for a total of $2400. There was pervasive overbilling for services on the invoice. I was being overcharged for the same services. And I was told that my case was dismissed when in fact it wasn't, that is legal malpractice and negligence with the miscommunication/handling, fraudulent overbilling and unethical business practices. I attempted to contact law office several times but getting run around. These actions constitute a breach of contract, breach of fiduciary duty and fraud, and the contract should be voided.

Please be advised that I am in receipt of the Complaint Activity Report for the above-referenced case. Unfortunately, there has been a misunderstanding regarding the client's expectation and/or complexities of his case. As a result, it appears as though he was not satisfied with the representation that he received. Although I would greatly appreciate the opportunity to clear up the misunderstandings regarding my representation of him in detail, I am limited by the *** Rules of Professional Conduct to the level with which I am allowed to respond.
I was retained to assist the client with a child support enforcement matter in*** County. Specifically, the client required representation because the State of *** had filed a Motion to Modify Child Support against him on behalf of his child's mother. For further clarification, the State of *** was requesting an increase in child support on behalf of his child's mother.
My office appeared on behalf of the client in court. Based solely upon a Motion to Decline Jurisdiction that I prepared, the State of *** took a voluntary dismissal in its' Motion to Modify Child Support. As a result, there was no increase in the client's monthly child support obligation as had been previously requested by the State of ***. Therefore, by all accounts, the client prevailed.
I intended to argue an additional statute and/or rule that would completely close the client's case out in the State of ***. That motion is scheduled to be heard in March 2019. In the interim, the client terminated my services. I attempted to reach out to him to explain the legal strategy in greater detail, but he did not answer the phone nor return my call. In light of his position regarding the handling of his case, it is my intent to withdraw from further representation.
