This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a mechanic (and I have experience)!
I scheduled an online appointment at pm one evening for an oil change due to a coupon I had received in the mail from MeinekeOnce there, I asked about two other minor issues I was noticing (which I also said would probably be seen when doing their mandatory "courtesy check")To be clear, I drive a Subaru Outback with about 210,I have had that car for a long time and am aware of what isn't working well with itAre there small leaks? AbsolutelyDoes it make a little rattle here and there? Of course! But it is reliable and starts perfectly! I am not going to replace anything that isn't necessary for the car to be reliable and safe for the next couple of years
Immediately, once I said I had a $coupon for a basic oil change and showed the woman at the counter, she said that they wouldn't accept the Meineke coupon because it comes from corporateWhat?!? A coupon for your business won't be accepted?!? I had never heard of such a thingShe then offered me their oil change options, the cheapest of which was $I was not going to pay $for an oil change (which is where a mechanic makes a large amount of profit)She then offered to take $off that price, which is still way too high of a price for an oil changeI can check my own headlights/wipers and top off my own fluidsThis does not take skill (nor much time or money) to completeIt is basically all profit for a mechanic
Now, on to the other two minor issues that I had: About four years ago, the hose clamps on the fuel line had come loose during cold weather (the metal contracts)I had a local mechanic in Waunakee tighten them for me four years ago for about $(because I was also there for something else)It took that mechanic about minutes of time under the hood to tighten the clampsWhen I asked Meineke if that is something they could do for me, the woman at the counter said it would probably be $plus tax!
My last issue, just testing the car battery would have been covered with the mandatory courtesy check, but auto stores will also just do this for free, so I left Meineke and took my car with, frustrated that I had left work early and wasted time driving to this store and getting rejected
This store seems to be only out to take as much money from the customer as possibleIf you are not familiar with cars or basic mechanic psychology, please avoid this place in order to not get ripped off! Play it safe and go to another mechanic in town!

Received a brake inspection and asked for a quote if it needed workMeineke told me it needed brakes, pads and rotors, flushing brakes, brake fluid, brake cleaner, cleaning calipers and resurfacing rotorsTotal quoted was $but I was able to use coupon for $savings, so $was final cost quoted My car and mileage is low, so I thought this sounded extremely high based on my other vehicle repair bills from past experiences I picked up my vehicle and took it to another auto repair service and they said my vehicle did not need most of the work Meineke quoted meLomira Auto did an inspection and quoted me new front and back rotors for a total cost of $I had them make the repairs, they provided me with a free loaner car and the brakes are working perfect Difference in price was $ I feel I was quoted for unnecessary parts/repairsI offered to discuss with MeinekeReceived a blanket reply from them which contained no details or actions In other word

Took my car to them for an Oil Change and the Rear Flex Pipe repairPart of the service offered for their oil change is that they do a tire rotation at the time of the oil change service According to the receipt they did do the tire rotation during my service of my oil change They are claiming that they did not do a Tire Change, but after having had my service work done the passenger front tire and its associated lug studs both were damaged while driving the vehicle after the service was done by them Lug studs would not snap under driving conditions unless they had been damaged by a torque wrench The car was towed back to them for review of the damage and to do repairs They are saying that I owe for the tow and repairs and the labor As I started reading reviews after this issue I learned that they are also pricing the repairs way higher then other centers for the same servicesThey only offered to reduce cost of the repairs for the lug stud and lug nuts not standin
