Review: On April [redacted] I made a reservation at [redacted] in New York City for the evening of Friday, April [redacted]., I recently returned from a military deployment and wanted to surprise my parents with a visit home. On the [redacted] of April I called in to have the stay extended to check out Sunday morning. On the [redacted] of April I called in again, to ask if it was too late to have the second night removed. I opened with the question, "Would it be too late to change the reservation?", and I was assured there would be no charges for the 2nd night. After my stay when I checked out, I asked the front desk if I was only being charged with one day and they assured me I was getting refunded for the next day. As matter a fact, they provided me with a receipt that clearly showed that I was to be refunded for the [redacted] of April.The receipt they issued me and it show that I was so be refunded 295.14 and I was to be charged only 207.36. I was provided the receipt in hand by the front desk agent, with her assurance, I would only be charged for the night that I actually stayed in the hotel.Much to my surprise, the hotel charged 295.14 dollars extra for the night I canceled and when I inquired about this charge, they provided me with a different invoice showing a 502 dollar charge (this receipt however, is dated ** April, 4 days after I checked out. Once I provided them with the receipt that was issued on check out, they assured me both phone operators and the front desk clerk made a mistake, and should not have been issued a refund.If I had been told that I was going to be charged for both days, I would have stayed in the hotel for both days. I only changed the reservation after I was assured that I would only be charged for the one night.I have been emailing them over and over and they refuse to grant me a refund. I am not a scammer or anything like that, I honestly feel like I was lied to and my invoice was changed as soon as I left the hotel. I want [redacted] to honor the invoice they gave me.Desired Settlement: I want [redacted] to honor the invoice they sent me. I would like to be refunded the $295.14 that multiple employees assured me. I understand they made a mistake by telling me I would be refunded as it is against their company police. But they cannot answer this simple question. Why should I have to pay 300 dollars for their mistake? I am an honest hard worker and If I made a mistake in my work place, I would not make a customer pay for it.
