Amazing family.
Laurie Rullis helped me perfectly and she is a very nice woman.

Good Afternoon, In response.. Just to clarify a few misrepresentations of the client. The original contract, and all artwork was sent to and signed, or at least, initialed by Mr. [redacted]. Mrs. [redacted] did not get involved with the design process, nor did The Lincoln Monument Co. have any...

communication with her for the first 6-7 months after the original contract date of April 26, 2013. It was at that time in March or April of 2014 she apologized for all the changes Mr. [redacted] had made and wanted to move forward quickly to have this completed. We met in our Montclair office and discussed this at length. Shortly thereafter, another rendering was mailed for approval and yet again there were more changes. Numerous attempts have been made on the part of my firm, and I strongly believe, if the [redacted] family had worked cooperatively along side with us a beautiful memorial tribute would have been the end result. I have sent countless renderings, had telephone conversations, took trips to the cemetery to check sizes, had email communications, and spent far beyond the originally anticipated employee time to provide a positive end result. The Lincoln Monument Company has been in business since 1919 and we have provided generations of families with fitting memorial tributes. In fact, in the "[redacted]" family folder alone we have original works dating back to February of 1955.. It says a lot about the work we're capable of and the excellent reputation we have.

I am rejecting this response because:Nov 26, 2014, I was notified Lincoln Monument had not responded to my complaint filed Nov 3, 2014 and the case was closed. Regardless of Mr. [redacted]'s late reply, his testament about his company or our family history, the fact remains that Lincoln Monument has kept $700 paid in good faith for goods and services not provided. Lincoln Monument's reputation and integrity would be better served by simply returning my $700 deposit, rather than having this matter turned over to NJ Division of Consumer Affairs.

Review: In Nov. 2013 I placed an order for a headstone for my parents. $400 of my $700 deposit to Lincoln Monument Co was the foundation fee. In Mar 2014, Lincoln gave notice of an increase in their price. As Lincoln did not place the order for the foundation, there is now a significant increase in that fee. Despite numerous revisions, my family and I were not satisfied with Lincoln's designs. I sent a letter Sept 6 and again Oct 3, 2014 canceling the orders and requesting a return of my deposit. Lincoln Monument Co has not complied.Desired Settlement: refund of $700 deposit
