Upon my arrival at The London on August 17,2020 I was not granted a key for access. I had to wait an hour for maintenance to bring me a key. The washer machine, dryer, sink, and garbage disposal, smoke detector, and the outlet in my room were broken. I contacted The London and filed my first work order for the washer machine August 25,2020 and it was just now fixed September 23,2020. The garbage disposal had mold and residue, and the sink leaked. The smoke detector in my room (apartment C) still has yet to be fixed. After every shower it goes off nonstop. The outlet in my restroom has been broken upon move in August 17, 2020 and has just now been fixed September 23,2020. I have reached out to management and maintenance upon several occasions and have gotten little help. They have also been filling premature completion reports on my work order. There was a time they marked my work order for my washer as complete and it was not, it was still broken. I was told that my requests were not of priority. I have encountered unprofessional management and maintenance. The London has collected rent from me twice for appliances that were broken upon my move in date August 17,2020. These things have hindered my overall health and wellbeing. I have had to figure alternative ways to do everyday things because of these inconveniences. I require an emotional support animal and these things have just added to the effects of my mental health and well being.

Thank you for reaching out, I hope to provide some clarification. Our goal is to address our residents concerns immediately, however, there are times when maintenance requests take longer than usual due to extenuating circumstances. I certainly understand how frustrating these concerns are and by no means are we ignoring the resident’s requests, but some issues to take time and require trouble shooting. First, the trash around the dumpsters increases substantially immediately after 700+ people move in. Our property has adequate trash receptacles throughout the community, the one in front of the resident’s building happens to be used most often and creates an overflow which is addressed daily. As for the resident’s washing machine, we responded to the resident’s maintenance request within 6 business days. Our maintenance team found that it needed a part, which was ordered, in the meantime they were still able to use their washing machine. We were then notified that the part was taking longer than usual, so we ended up replacing the machine the next day. The resident’s bathroom outlets took some trial and error as many electrical issues do. However, the resident had full access to outlets within her bedroom in the meantime. Although it was notated on the unit condition form, it states on both the form and the lease agreement that the unit condition form is not a work order.
I truly understand that not having immediate access to these items can be extremely frustrating and inconvenient, however, per our lease agreement they are not considered emergencies, but we understand that they are considered urgent. Therefore, it was our responsibility to triage the incoming emergencies and be fair to the other residents that requested work orders prior to theirs.

I am rejecting this response because: I would like some sort of disbursement or compensation for the appliances that were broken upon my move in date at The London. I feel as though these are unacceptable circumstances. I also would like to make sure these situations do not occur to future first time apartment owners at The London residence.
