Thank you for your call today to let me know about this complaint She also posted a negative review on google as well on this same situation.When my maintmen were called in, there was water everywhere on the floor including her bedroom carpet that was soaked and bathroom as well The
roommates in her room stated that they had all went out the night before and came home drunk at approximately or AM and went to bed One of them woke up in the morning and found the water everywhere and went to her room to wake her up.Maintenance looked at all appliances the water heater, washer and dryer and nothing was being used at that time nor leaking Being that her bathroom was soaked as well, it seemed as if the faucet was left on and overflowed onto the floor causing the water to leak out and flood mainly her room and hallway.If it had been the washer, the water heater, the dishwasher, it would have flooded in a different pattern and caused other areas to be flooded much more than her room and bathroom.The charge of $was directly from the company that we sent out to not only wet vac the carpet and floor but to de-humidy the area as well to alleviate possible mold or other issues from happening.We did not charge her a fine for floor damage which there will be when she moves out, etc only the exact amount of the invoice.While maintenance was in her apartment they even asked what had happened and one of the girls stated that the faucet was left on and she turned if off when she woke *** up.Since the incident now the girls have changed their story and are stating that they do not know what happened that they woke up to water being everywhere.Whenever we get a call about water leakage our staff immediately goes to check it out as we understand the damage that water can do and we have to repair it in most cases.We did send her a notification that the charge would be added to her account and she was responsible for it.If it had been from an appliance as it was another time after this one, my maintenance team reports that back and repairs the equipment to avoid additional issues The washer leaked and maintenance found that they were overloading it with heavy clothes and/or towels These are stackable units that do not allow for a lot of items at one time to be washed.
