This is [redacted] I am not able file a response on the link provided in the letter. Mr. [redacted] is wrong in every respect. He knew I had started my own firm. He could not make up his mind as to whether he wanted to pay the debt against his...

family's home. As verified by e-mail he concluded that he had seceded to let the house go to the creditors of the estate, After reviewing documents and our discussions I concurred. The matter was concluded at that point. I did not require the balance of the retainer because he did not want me to take steps to save the home. Mr. [redacted] wanted to make all decisions and have me simply sign off on them. Even though I put in time of a value in excess of $250.00 I will send Mr. [redacted] a refund check. Mr. [redacted] is off base and if he had called me for a refund I would have given it to him. From the beginning I was uneasy with him, but gave him good advice and this matter should be closed without any public indication of the complaint or its substance. Thank you.

(The consumer indicated he/she ACCEPTED the response from the business.)
I disagree with his contentions. It wasn't just about the house, it was about an automobile associated with the estate which the debtor in question is trying to shake out of me. The whole point was not about the house per se, but was about contacting the other lawyer and stating my position as well as being available should the other attorney go after the automobile or me personally. The point of retaining him was not about a house, but protecting me from a pushy lawyer who was pressing to get as much as he could from me. Had he spent any amount of time listening, he would have gathered that.
Uneasy, huh? Is that what is done to someone who demands a refund for poor service, attack their character? It was only by leaning on his old firm that I found out that he had moved on to a different firm and I have documented proof of that.
That all being said, I'm not wanting to relitigate the whole argument again. Clearly, I felt poorly served. I wasn't looking for an initial consult, but looking for someone who would have my back against a known pushy lawyer. Clearly, Mr. [redacted] wasn't up for that job. I wish he'd have told me that initially and would have saved both of us the trouble. If he felt our professional relationship wasn't a good fit, then he should have said it. I suspect when he abruptly changed firms, my case got lost in the shuffle and he didn't care enough to follow-up on it or find out. It was only by leaning on his old firm that I actually ever heard anything back from him after the initial consult. It was an apologetic response. After a while, I just got sick of dealing with. In any case, as long he follows through on the refund, I will table this whole matter as a bad fit. However, if not, I reserve the right to re-initiate. Also, I expect anything we did or did not talk about to EVER be relayed to the opposing attorney and should I find out it has been by The Magee Law firm, I will consider that a breach of confidentiality. I don't wish Mr. [redacted] harm, I just wish to have this matter closed and reimbursed for what I deem poor service. If that's done, I wish him well.
