!!!! 2 Location company !!!! I will be discussing my dislike and disapproval on the THE MANELY FIRM, P.C. on Roswell st. in Marietta, Ga. I can argue they took my $3,717.71 with the intent of doing little to nothing to help me win this battle to retain arrears of over $6000 of child support and modification of monthly child support. I have full physical custody of my son. In the state of Georgia when dealing with a "Family" case, all parties must go do a DISCOVERY in order to talk about the case. Talk..ABOUT...THE...CASE... not to RESOLVE anything about the case. Mr. Manely charges $400 per hr. We agreed his paralegal will be handling my case for a lesser charge. The day of discovery at the down town court house Dec 3. My paralegal was late, I called to follow up on her where abouts' (which I was charged for). Why does Mr. Manely and the paralegal show up to my discovery, late? Why is Mr. Manely at my DISCOVERY hearing? The paralegal informed me she was " new and unsure of this counties discovery " WHY wasn't I informed of that before you took my money!!! I provided them with all the information they requested of me. Now, I'm scheduled to go to mediation in Feb and pay more money. I terminated their representation and they can not show/give me ONE physical copy of proof, during the time I employed them, of them reaching out to the apposing councils attorney to get any information from them, regarding opposing councils financial Affidavit which is mandatory before discovery. THEY USED $3,717.71 to call me and show up late!!!!!!
Mr. is lying about everything. Truth has nothing to do what he is trying to accomplish here. By way of example, the "paralegal" he refers to is a very well respected female attorney. Mr. knows this perfectly well. Since he has chosen to call this female attorney a "paralegal" four times in his missive, one can understand well what very antiquated stunt Mr. is attempting to pull here. His dishonest missive deserves no further response.
We have been in business for over 30 years representing thousands of clients with great success. I have argued and won a unanimous decision from the United States Supreme Court. We are often arguing before our Georgia appellate courts. Our attorneys are excellent at what they do. They do not deserve to be attacked with such falsehoods.
No I am not lying. Let me correct my verbiage. If the only offense you take is by me Inadvertently calling your female attorney a paralegal. I talked to my paralegal more than my attorney so I was accustomed to the word paralegal. But, everything else I stated is accurate. But, this is only my experience with the firm. If you are a client with endless capital, maybe try them.
PLEASE do your research before hiring an attorney. I felt VERY taken by this lawfirm and was treated unprofessionally and when I questioned billing, their staff was extremely rude to me. I'm sorry but as a client, you have a right to know what uou are paying for and to question it when charges are clearly inflated. I have spoken with several former clients that have found me through social media complaining that they will threaten you with a lawsuit for bad reviews. I hope someone out there takes this seriously and looks into this lawfirm closely because I am afraid they may not be practicing ethically.
It appears that a former attorney with our firm represented Ms. back in 2016 in a custody matter out of our Gainesville office which we have long since closed. The case apparently went very well for the client resulting in a settlement agreement. She does still owe us over $4,000 from that 2016 case. In 2017, we had offered to accept $2,000 as payment in full. The former client did not take us up on that offer but has made some payments on occasion. The client once did complain about the amount of work and therefore cost on her custody case but has never suggested that any of the billing was unethical, only that she should have been charged less because she is a divorced parent.
Of course, we have been open for nearly 30 years and successfully handled thousands of cases for thousands of clients, including cases all the way up the the Supreme Court of Georgia and the Supreme Court of the United States of America.
I am sorry that Ms. suddenly feels aggrieved more than two years later.
I currently owe the firm $1500 so the 'over $4,000' is a gross exaggeration. Additionally, I DID explain that they had double charged me for frivolous items in which I was refunded a small portion at approximately $150.00. Furthermore, I hired ONE attorney and yet an assistant also showed up at my final hearing without my consent which I also had to pay for this woman's time. The only thing the assistant did was hand the attorney a couple of papers out of her file. The communication back and forth when I complained was highly unprofessional. I am not mad I had to pay because I am a single parent, I am very upset over the final bill. When the monthly charges were approximately 2,000 and then the month of my final bill (the last month alone) was 6,469.00 for ONE day in court, my mind was blown. If they were going to nickel and dime me I would have liked some warning when they knew my income.
This Family Law firm over-charges for services and bills for services never received. Shamefully, they take advantage of vulnerable people going through difficult times.
This is a blatant falsehood. These allegations were reviewed and determined false by a neutral body.. The complaintant hopes to deceive the public.
