Review: The Meadows At Salem Run is a Senior Apartment facility that failed to supply heat to building [redacted] (the entire building of 80 apartments)from Friday October 16, 2015 through Sunday night October 18, 2015. The nighttime temperatures for Spotsylvania County on those dates were as follows: Friday 34 degrees, Saturday 27 degrees, Sunday 28 degrees. I first called the emergency maintenance phone number at 4AM Saturday morning to report the lack of heat in the building, and I called three more times after that, the last time being around 3PM Sunday afternoon. During that last call, the maintenance representative told me that the Property Manager had been contacted and that the Property Manager said she would not attempt to honor emergency maintenance requests for heat until Monday morning.On Monday morning October 19th heat was restored to the building, and the excuse given for not honoring multiple emergency maintenance requests from numerous individuals was that, "They didn't want to spend the money" to call out a maintenance technician on the weekend. I don't know who "they" is, but "they" don't live here and did not have to suffer through three nights of extremely cold temperatures without heat.The Meadows At Salem Run is managed by U.S. Residential Group LLC. Whether it was the Property Manager's or U.S. Residential Group's decision to violate the terms of the lease by not honoring the implied warranty of habitability is immaterial. We senior citizen residents are the ones who suffered for that decision.Desired Settlement: 1. I would like each resident of [redacted]. to be given a rental refund for the total lack of heat during the nights of 16,17 and 18 October 2015, to be deducted from next month's rent.2. I would also like the responsible parties to publicly apologize to all residents of building [redacted] for their callous and illegal disregard for our health and well-being, and the assurance that this sort of incident will not be repeated again.
