The Metal Store

The Metal Store shipped a piece of aluminum, 3/8 x 3/4 x 24 inches. The box arrived empty. A hole in the end of the cardboard box exactly matched the small dimensions of the bar. This means the sharp cut ends were not properly padded, and when the package was dropped, the aluminum shot out through through the cardboard box..
First, the company no longer has a fax number, but has not removed it from their mailed receipt. (Dead-end waste of time for customer) Phone person said they've tried many times but owner will not update forms.
Second, the phone person, and the manager I asked for, simply repeated how they pack, and that they have received no complaints. (Irrelevant) I said I am holding them responsible for not packaging properly. They said they are not going to do anything about it. Instead, I could file a loss report with Post Office (dread!) and when The Metal Store gets the money, they will refund me.
This purchase was $10 for bar, plus $16 shipping. I have since ordered from Amazon for $5 and free shipping, packed properly.
