MESSAGE FROM BUSINESS:
I'm sorry that the customer purchased something that they did not want.  The person she dealt with has been doing this for a long time and does not say that cleaning is included because he knows that it is not.   The customer purchased a specific set of services and then is upset when a completely different service is not going to be provided.  Again, it is unfortunate that she seems to have misunderstood what she purchased, but it is very clearly spelled out and this customer is the first out of thousands who is under the impression that a cleaning is included.  She initialed and signed in multiple locations to confirm that she read the specifics of the purchase.

Response:   You were not present during the conversation.  Why don’t the salesman who misrepresented himself look at me in the eye and deny my allegations.  For  $65.00, if I am a business owner, I will not jeopardize my reputation, integrity and credibility.  It is very unlikely that a buyer will buy something that she knows she cannot use, unless she was told otherwise.  It was very clear that I told your representative that I have health issues and I just want cleaning.  Your salesman is not any different from others who will say anything to get a sale and make money.  This is a very dishonest way of doing business. In addition, this was a quick sale.  In front of the counter where he was standing, there was a big sign “No Solicitors”.  He continued to talk. When he told me that he is from the neighborhood dental office, I accommodated him. He gave me the contract after I paid him.  I relied on his verbal representation and he denies that?  I trusted him, but he betrayed my trust and this made me very furious.

[redacted] did not call her back because it he is not in the customer service department. The woman who did return her call is.

This is a very poor way of doing business.

We cannot offer refunds on this purchase, which is also spelled out clearly on the certificate itself.  I would be happy to provide a new certificate which she can give to a friend who is able to use the services she purchased.

Response:   No.  I want my money back.  There should be consideration on the money spent. A refund is necessary if it cannot be used by the purchaser.

Your offer for a new certificate to be used by my friend is absurd.  This is not a solution I do not wish friends to be victimized by your scheme and fraudulent representation.

Review: On 2/11/2014 a representative of The Million Dollar Smile stopped by my office about a promotion for General and Cosmetic Dentistry. He said I will only pay $65.00 for a package worth $450.00 which includes office visits, consultation exam and x-rays and whitening. I told the representative that I have some health issues and I do not need the service they are offering and I said that I only want cleaning (which I could get from other places for less). He told me that cleaning is included. He said I could make an appointment at 12301 Wilshire Blvd., which is close to my work. Because he represented himself very well I relied on his representation and as a gesture of goodwill, although $65.00 is too much for teeth cleaning and since we are next door neighbor, I issued a check in the amount of $64.99 and he gave me a Certificate for the service which is good for 6 months.Prior to expiration of the certificate, I called the dental office her referred me to. Here is the CATCH. I was asked if I had dental insurance. That I need to have 2 visits for diagnosis and I would have to have some dental work done prior to whitening. The certificate is just a gimmick to get your foot at the dental office spend more money for dental work. They asked me to call [redacted] a ###-###-#### to get my money back. When I called [redacted], I got a return call after 2 days from a woman not from [redacted] telling me that they will not return my money. On July 14, 2014, I sent a letter to Dr. Rousita Rashtian, DDS of Serenity Dental Center who will be benefited had I retain them for the service. I never received a response.Desired Settlement: There should be some consideration for the money I spent, but no service was provided as a result of misrepresentation. I want my money back.

Response:

I'm sorry that the customer purchased something that they did not want. The person she dealt with has been doing this for a long time and does not say that cleaning is included because he knows that it is not. The customer purchased a specific set of services and then is upset when a completely different service is not going to be provided. Again, it is unfortunate that she seems to have misunderstood what she purchased, but it is very clearly spelled out and this customer is the first out of thousands who is under the impression that a cleaning is included. She initialed and signed in multiple locations to confirm that she read the specifics of the purchase.
