On 2/17/20 I reserved a one night stay at the hostel for July 5 2020.
The hostel required payment in full of the $62.63 cost for the room and taxes.
The stated cancellation policy is a full refund as long as the cancellation is made more
than 14 days before the stay. Yesterday I reached out to the hostel via email to
cancel the stay and request a refund. The response I got back said that the hostel
had closed for good and that “no further refunds will be given at this time”.
The decision to close was made on 4/20/20. I should have received notification and an
automatic refund. In this case, even if I was able to keep my reservation
the hostel is PERMANENTLY CLOSED and cannot honor it. Yet they refuse to give
my money back for a service they promised and will never be able to provide.
