My attorney's office sent a check $2,868 to Mount Saini doctor's billing practice in February of 2019. Then I got call from my attorney’s office saying Mount Saini need my correct address because they have a refund for me in the amount of over $2,600 in May of 2019. I was told I should get my refund in 30 days. I did not know why I was getting a refund until I started getting collections calls because they payment went to wrong doctor. I have been contacting Mount Saini billing customer Service for 6 months and the reply I get in my Mount Saini Chart is " Thanks for you patience we have request your refund this have been going on since June of 2019. The correct doctor's office have been calling me non stop for payment which I don't have.

I had a mammogram a year ago at the Dubin breast center in Mount Sinai. When I went for my exam my PPO was approved for this examination. The receptionist there at the hospital told me that my insurance covered what I’d be receiving that day.

I waited six hours for my appointment. I went in at 9:45 and didn’t leave until 4pm. I lost a day of pay.

After the exam, I received a bill for over $600. I contacted them over a dozen times throughout the year speaking to the billing department, customer service, the manager disputing this bill. They had my insurance and the billing department simultaneously on the phone with me and the my health insurance told us that they didn’t cover an examination called “breast tomosynthesis” a 3 d breast exam. I never requested this exam. I was supposed to only go in for a mammogram as far as I was concerned. My insurance said the only reason they didn’t pick it up was because it was this procedure.

After being told my insurance was going to pick it up and then being told later that it wasn’t going to be picked up, I started to dispute the bill. I again spoke to various amount of people through emails and phone calls. Each person told me they would resolve the issue. They also told me I had a customer service complaint I should file since I was treated awfully and waited for six hours for a mammogram that should only take at the most an hour.

While in in dispute, they without warning, they then sent me to a collection agency. I called them and told them I’m getting letters from a collection agency. They told me we will stop it immediately. They didn’t. I kept getting the letters.

After many months of going back-and-forth I received another letter saying hey are relieving me of $200 off the bill. I thought OK, at least they reduce the bill but I still was frustrated because I shouldn’t have been paying anything at all. I never had to pay for my mammogram before and I have had the same insurance for over 10 years and a PPO. The woman I spoke to at this point was in the billing department in the managers office. I at this time must’ve spoken to at least seven different people in Mount Sinai And Dublin center. The billing department offered me 10% off (I should add that because I thought that was so ridiculous in the very beginning when I first started disputing). They then told me that they didn’t know what the letter meant and that they would fix it. At this point I’m thinking now they’re telling me I owe over $400 now but they’re going to try to fix this as well. She told me she was going to handle the case. I just got off the phone with her and told me her manager said now I owe 400+ dollars and “that’s the final offer”. As though they are bargaining with me (?) She also told me my insurance didn’t pick up a part of the bill because it was done at the hospital. That is not what my insurance told me. My insurance told me they didn’t pick it up because of the procedure itself (which again I never requested) so it completely conflicts with what my insurance is saying. It is a complete circus.

It’s unbelievable that this highly respected hospital treats patients this way. I am disputing all charges from this hospital and because they can’t treat their patients right I am turning to Revdex.com in hoping you can help me. Thank you

I had an appointment scheduled today with Dr. Lauren C from Mount Siani at ***. When I get to the appointment, I am notified that I was given the wrong adress and Dr. Cohn is at a different location in Manhattan. So I called to see if I could get an appointment later in the day and I was dispatched from number to number and was hung up on for for a whole hour. No one I spoke to seemed to have any information regarding my appointment, some even saying I was not in the system even though I had seen her previously. In preparation for this appointment which was an IUD insertion, I had to take Cytotec which is a strong drug that I have now taken for nothing and is having unnecessary effects in my body. I cannot go see another doctor since it is Dr. C that has the IUD.

Mt. Sinai is trying to collect a fee for a doctor's visit that was covered by insurance.

I started Medicare almost one year ago with Emblem Health as a supplemental. Mt. Sinai made a mess out of the billing by having Medicare as my secondary; or not including Emblem Health listed at all. Consequently, I was billed for services that would have been covered if they had just gotten it right. They also got a collection agency involved when I did not pay the bill. I have contacted them by mail and through Billing on My Chart. I have spoken to Emblem Health confirming that they would pick up the difference for charges and I would not be liable for anything. Still it is not resolved. Today I got a call from their billing dept. I called back and told them not to call me again that I do not owe them anything.

Dear Management Team,

We have received a bill for a ER visit on April , 2019 for account nr *** We have visited the pediatric outpatient department during this day for a consultation and blood withdrawal at the outpatient department to evaluate the bilirubin level.

The results would arrive after the working hours of the outpatient department and the resident physician did not want to wait for the results by herself. Instead of contacting the physician on call, she referred us to the ER to wait inside the ER department.
The ER doctors were not informed by the residents.
We were sent home after receiving the results.
The ER visit was therefore a consequence of the internal logistical issues by Mount Sinai and not initiated by us.
We were not informed about any costs on forehad.
We are not willing to pay this unfair bill based on the above situation.

Yours sincerely

I received a bill for services rendered back in November when I made an ER visit. At the time of the visit, I paid a $500 copay. The bill was also $500. I paid the bill after I received a second notice. Subsequently, I called to confirm the reason for the bill and was told that it was for my co-pay. I explained I made that payment at the time of my visit. The financial office confirmed that I had been doubly charged. I initiated the process of a refund on March . I was told it would take 3-4 weeks to receive the refund. I checked back in on May *. I was told that the refund was processed, but that the hospital's check writer was "broken." I have been calling every few days since then and I continue to be told that the refund has been processed and approved, but it will be another several weeks before I receive the actual check. They were quick to send me two erroneous bills (which I paid out of fear, and assuming that the hospital knew what it was doing) but when the tables are turned, I'm meant to wait for MONTHS for my money back. If I had nonchalantly told the hospital that I approved and processed the bill they sent but that they wouldn't get their payment for more than two months, what would have happened to me?

I woke up one morning with very blurred vision, inwas terrified and all doctors and urgent cares were closed. Not knowing whatvwas wrong with me and afraid it could rapidky become worse or remain the same I went to the er. I waited for hours, and by the time the doctor saw me I was almost back to normal vision. Inasked if there would he extra fees and the doctor refused to answer. She saw me for a couple of minutes. I layed my expensive co pay later on and thought that was it. Then I got s bill for 369 dollsrd and was told my emergency wasnt urgent because my vision loss turned out to be temporary. How could anybody know that? What if I was hurt with the blurred vision? When I asked the hospitsl to resubmit the charges, they said they will not change them they are correct. Now I am stuck withban insane bill for absolutely no services rendered from a crook doctor.

I have been paying out a bill for my spouse, Michael D,, through Mt. Sinai website , The bill was down to $500 at which time I made five $20 payments with Visa cards. I saw the balance decrease to $400 on the website and I received a receipt for each payment confirming that they went through. The next day or so, the balance was again up to $500. I have been in touch via email with Rebecca N, Director of Physician Access Services because that's the only email I could find. I don't like to call billing because I get no where. Ms. N told me she forwarded my message to her management team and she would follow up to make sure I received a response. No one has gotten back to me , include Ms. N.

However hospital never contacted meSincerely

I had surgery at the hospital on 4/*/18; at that time, they demanded a payment of $1250 as I had not yet met my deductible. After the surgery, since I NEVER received a statement, I contacted the hospital billing department and was informed that I had a credit in the amount of $644.73. I asked for the money to be refunded to me. Note that if I had not contacted the hospital, waited on the phone on hold for an endless period of time, and made an inquiry, I would not even know the hospital owed me money. The young man I spoke with -- whose name I did not write down as I expected the hospital to act in good faith -- told me that I would receive a refund check in three weeks. Well, as of today, it's been at least six weeks if not more and no check. I called this morning and spoke with a nice young woman (named Alicia) who told me there was no refund issued, and that I would have to wait ANOTHER 4-6 weeks for a refund check. Funny, I was able to issue payment immediately but this hospital takes months to issue a check. How does that work? So, I have yet again another "promise" of a check in 4-6 weeks (really? 4-6 weeks to cut a check??). It is not acceptable to me that this hospital hang onto my hard-earned money, make money off of it in the form of interest, and not issue a check without constant nagging. I have no guarantee I will receive the check in 4-6 weeks. I have one person's word which is obviously not worth much despite her obvious good intentions (it is the intentions of the hospital that I doubt, not this lovely young lady).

I delivered my son at the hospital on Nov 17 2017. I have a primary insurance. My insurance card states that for a hospitalization I have a $300 copay. I was willing to pay it. However after weeks of going back and forth It appears I have a co insurance that I was not aware of. I called the hospital on multiple dates to ask for financial assistance and I was told since I have private insurance I am not eligable. I called multiple times. I spoke with multiple people. Last month I was referred first to someone named Amy then someone namde JEnifer Ra*** and then Lisette F. After multiple phone calls I was told to apply for medicaid. Unforutanelty medicaid only goes back 3 months and I was advised of this 4 months post delivery date. My son and I currently have Medicaid as a secondary insurance due to our income bracket. Had the hospital advised me sooner I would have applied sooner and have been eligable for state assisstance in covering my bill and my son's bill. I would like the Hospital to fight with medicaid to cover for longer or to drop the bill at this time.

I had a scheduled surgery at Mount Sinai Medical Center in October 2016. On the day of surgery, I gave my primary and secondary insurance to the receptionist upon her request. She returned both insurance cards to me after she filled the info into the hospital's system. 1 month later I received my first bill dated 11/*/16 from Mount Sinai Medical Center Surgical Associates. The bill was marked with an adjustment from my primary insurance but had no adjustments from my secondary insurance. I contacted the billing department and spoke to Ricky the billing manager. I explained that the bill needed to be submitted to my secondary insurance and again gave him this info. He said he would get back to me. I did not hear from him but again received a bill dated 12/*/16 for the same amount. I called Ricky again and left a message. I was unable repeatedly to get through to him so I spoke to the receptionist whom I also gave all of insurance info to. She said she would get right back to me but never did. After not hearing anything, I received a final bill notice dated 2/*/17. I again tried to contact Ricky but with no answer and his voicemail box now said it was full. I again spoke to the receptionist and gave her my insurance info. I did not hear anything back and tried to call repeatedly. I assumed that the issue was resolved but in July I received a collection agency notice dated 6//17 requesting that I pay the overdue bill. It still had the same amount as the initial bill without any deductions from my secondary insurance. I contacted my secondary insurance and found out that they had never received any claims from Mount Sinai. They contacted Ricky at Mount Sinai directly. He refused to submit the claim to them because he claimed that the secondary insurance was never given to Mount Sinai. Clearly this is an error on someone in their hospital either erroneously inputting my information, or a system issue that is not showing my secondary insurance. My doctor advised me that Mount Sinai is in the process of merging their data systems for all of their locations so this could also be the issue. Either way, I have never dealt with such a rude incompetent person in charge of a billing department. Ricky is completely unwilling to do his job, let alone even answer the phone. He should not be in charge of billing for such a large hospital.
