If you can actually get them to show up for a scheduled appointment then consider it a winI contacted the Mover Guys on a Thursday to schedule the moving of one sectional couch from our vacant property to our new homeThe man I spoke with on the phone was rude and condescendingHe said we could not leave the vacant property open because he needed someone to sign paperwork confirming there was no damageHe argued with me when I told him the couch did NOT have legs and told me "when I get there and spend time removing couch legs you'll be paying me more money"At this point I didn't feel I needed to be spoken to in that manner and I disconnected the callAfter not being able to find another company, my boyfriend called back to schedule and confirm that the couch did not have legsWe booked for Monday at (on Thursday, so a few days in advance)Monday comes around and at 1:30pm we had not heard from the movers so my boyfriend called to checkThey said someone had quit and they were so swamped and it would need to happen at 5pmMy boyfriend received two more calls, moving the appt to 8pm and then cancelling all together and rescheduling for the following dayThis time the movers told him it was fine if the place was open and no one was there - a different story than what I was toldMy boyfriend was unable to meet them between and as he had a meeting, he was very clear and told the movers thisOn Tuesday what time do they call and say they will be there? NoonMy boyfriend rushed out to the vacant property and the movers didn't show up for another half an hourOnce they arrived the couch was packed up quickly and delivered to our new homeIt is just a shame it was such a headache to get that done The Mover Guys Website notes they will take old furniture as donation, what it doesn't explain is this needs to be prearranged with the charity and it costs extraWe were told "we need to change the wording" I have also noticed that whenever the Mover Guys receive a negative review they back it up with either saying they have no record of it, or by giving out personal information about the people making the reviewsIn this case I have no personal information to air so please, think carefully before scheduling a move with these guys This was extremely stressful for usThe movers charge less than other companies and I understand why-you pay for what you get

I wish I had done some research on this company before hiring them; as the quality of work was poor I moved from a small bedroom condo into a home, to keep costs down for myself I moved a lot of the little items myself I only required movers to help with the large furniture items and heavy totes I was EXTREMELY displeased that they had a sofa and some other items on the truck when they arrived and were not able to fit all of my items in Leaving my partner and I to take loads in a borrowed pick up truck And then we were still charged FULL PRICE I also noticed several scratches on some furniture and the couch cushions were very very dirty There is a difference between being timely/efficient and rushing a move and taking short cuts I would never hire this company again, nor would I recommend them to anyone

I was having home renovations done and needed all of my belongings moved out of the house and then to be moved back in when the renos were completed The Mover Guys were extremly accommodating, friendly, and honest As with any renovations there were changes to the move in date in which The Mover Guys were understanding and would rearrange their schedules to accommodate me They handled everything with care and were able to pack everything into my one car garage It was amazing because I live in a level split condo

I hired the Mover Guys to move my small office They showed up on time and were very friendly They were extremely fast and professional All of my furniture (large heavy desks) and boxes were moved to an office building downtown without incident They safely packed and blanketed all the furniture, and even my new wood tables were moved without a scratch My experience was very positive and I would definitely use Jesse and the Mover Guys again Thanks guys

I hired these guys 2 move me out of a basement sweet 2 a duplex, They were very efficiant, I have some very heavy furniture they carried it like it was nothing with no damage. I would recommend em.

I was having home renovations done and needed all of my belongings moved out of the house and then to be moved back in when the renos were completed. The Mover Guys were extremly accommodating, friendly, and honest. As with any renovations there were 3 changes to the move in date in which The Mover Guys were understanding and would rearrange their schedules to accommodate me. They handled everything with care and were able to pack everything into my one car garage. It was amazing because I live in a 3 level split condo.

[redacted] The worst moving experience I have ever had. Would not move half of my stuff. Broke some very expensive furniture. I'm sure one of them was hung over and could not have cared less ! Would not recommend these movers to anyone! They should be ashamed of themselves!

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/01/01) */
When [redacted] booked the job with me she was reminded that her king size mattress even though it is new is not covered for any damage just the same as another king mattress we moved for her a few days before was not (also stated on...

her previous receipt). When moving a very heavy king mattress upstairs we always do our best to be careful not scuff walls and damage light fixtures as we usually have to twist and bend the mattress to get it up which could result in damage. The guys were moving it up [redacted]'s stairway while her husband was spotting and I did suggest he may want give them a hand since the plastic it came in kept getting stuck along all the sharp corners on the stairway banister [redacted] There was a tear on the bottom of the mattress that was caused by getting snagged on the banister. We always try to minimize the possibility of damage which may occur that is why the mattress was carried with the bottom side against the stair railings rather then the top so if there is a incident it is not visible and does not affect the pillow top. I did speak to [redacted] later that day (she was not there when it happened) and since she had used our services below and the tear is not visible what so ever and does not affect the use of her mattress at all, we agreed on refunding her half the cost of the delivery. She had never said anything about us replacing her mattress or called back to further discus so this complaint comes as a bit of a surprise. We had only agreed to refund half the delivery because [redacted] is a repeat customer and it was Christmas otherwise would normally not. *Mattresses are not ever insured due to the possibility of stains, previous internal / external damage(ie. springs), age and wear of the mattresses and mainly the fact we usually have to twist and bend the mattresses to get them in the room or up or down stairs, especially king size mattresses.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/01/09) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
There was never any time when [redacted] said that his business had no insurance for moving a mattress, particularly a brand new mattress. We hired him and paid him to move a mattress so why would he think he should then direct my husband to do the job that we paid him to do. My husband was not involved in moving the mattress that the movers damaged ripping a massive hole in the bottom lining. [redacted] said he would refund the whole delivery cost of $200 for damaging the only item that he was paid to move [redacted] He has not sent us a checque or phoned or attempted to give us back the $200. that he promised.
Final Business Response /* (4000, 9, 2015/01/22) */
We always mention what items are insured at not. I never directed her husband to help move the mattress, just suggested to help with the plastic getting caught since he was at the bottom of the stairs right by the guys with his shoes off. And I spoke with [redacted] on the Friday evening and got her postal code to mail her a cheque the following week. I did not get a chance to drop it off on Monday and on Tuesday I got the Revdex.com complaint in me email. So it should be no surprise to her I did not mail it and we never contact a customer when we are dealing with a Revdex.com issue. We can refund the $200. delivery charge even though I believe we agreed on half.

He said we could not leave the vacant property open because he needed someone to sign paperwork confirming there was no damage. He argued with me when I told him the couch did NOT have legs and told me "when I get there and spend time removing couch legs you'll be paying me more money". At this point I didn't feel I needed to be spoken to in that manner and I disconnected the call. After not being able to find another company, my boyfriend called back to schedule and confirm that the couch did not have legs. We booked for Monday at 12 (on Thursday, so a few days in advance). Monday comes around and at 1:30pm we had not heard from the movers so my boyfriend called to check. They said someone had quit and they were so swamped and it would need to happen at 5pm. The Mover Guys Website notes they will take old furniture as donation, what it doesn't explain is this needs to be prearranged with the charity and it costs extra. We were told "we need to change the wording".
I have also noticed that whenever the Mover Guys receive a negative review they back it up with either saying they have no record of it, or by giving out personal information about the people making the reviews. In this case I have no personal information to air so please, think carefully before scheduling a move with these guys.

The last email that was sent was this;
'It's not fraud, when asked to move your date we obliged. At no time did we say your rate is reduced or changed nor did you inquire if it was to be...

so.
[redacted] you paid them when they were finished.'
We can gladly refund [redacted] the $60. difference. that she desires. She could of just asked in her email or when we moved her at the end of the job when she was given her invoice/receipt that clearly stated the hourly rate.
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2014/12/16) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
I don't really care about the $60. I care that the companies I do business with operate ethically. The obligation is not on me to confirm cost when cost was clearly stated in the original pricing. [redacted] The purpose of my complaint was to get it in the public view [redacted]

Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2014/07/03) */
The price of the move was never increased, it was the same rate that was quoted over the phone and the same rate everyone else was paying. The supervisor showed up an hour before they finished and had a brief conversation with the guys...

for 2 minutes not a 15 minute break and he worked along side the guys at no charge to the customer until the job was completed. Where the mark on the wall came was a very tight spot where there already was significant damage to the wall not just a nick. When asked if they would like items put back together or if there was anything else needed, we were told there was not. [redacted] We always abide by the rules of the agreement and go above and beyond if there is damage or an upset customer (That is why they saved at least an hour or so off their bill by having a free worker towards the end of the move saving a lot more than $10/hr that was allegedly overcharged)[redacted]

I wish I had done some research on this company before hiring them; as the quality of work was poor. I moved from a small 1 bedroom condo into a home, to keep costs down for myself I moved a lot of the little items myself. I only required movers to help with the large furniture items and heavy totes.

I was EXTREMELY displeased that they had a sofa and some other items on the truck when they arrived and were not able to fit all of my items in. Leaving my partner and I to take 2 loads in a borrowed pick up truck. And then we were still charged FULL PRICE.

I also noticed several scratches on some furniture and the couch cushions were very very dirty. There is a difference between being timely/efficient and rushing a move and taking short cuts. I would never hire this company again, nor would I recommend them to anyone.
