The Moving Crew

The customer [redacted] called to schedule for 2 hours of moving because she was on a budget. Our diesel truck was unplugged at night so it would not start up right away. We called the customer to let her know that we were running behind. To make up the difference in time I sent a third guy....

However, what she failed to mention is we only charged for 2 movers. When my crew arrived the place was a mess, they were still packing and we had to clear a path just to begin. There were buckets of fecal matter and urine in the basement that we had to work around as well. My crew chief and the 2 movers felt the conditions were unsafe to move in, but felt obligated to at least get the majority of the items. We charge for 2 guys at 2.5 hours $230.00 plus a $50.00 trip fee for a total of $280.00. That was all the customer stated they could afford so we try to stsy under the budget for them. As far as the insurance issue, we do have insurance pf .60 cents per pound on catastrophic damages. We do also offer a full coverage plan that is "optional." The customer stated the legs were loose prior to moving, so the damage was prior to us moving it. We would be glad to go get the rest of the items at the hourly rate of $45/guy and in good faith I will drop the $50.00 trip fee. Again we are an hourly service and the customer knew this prior to the move.
