Review: I had purchased tickets to a show to go on this evening (29 Jan 14). I live in the Hampton Roads Area of VA and we experienced some inclement weather the evening of the 28th through the morning of the 29th. The unfortunate result is that it will be unsafe and unwise foe me to commute from my location to the venue as planned. I had purchased my tickets through [redacted] and after contacting their customer service line at [redacted] I was directed to contact the venue directly. I understand [redacted] refund/exchange policy as it is written on their site and that is why they directed me to the venue. I contacted the box office at The National at [redacted] and explained the circumstances. Mind you there is no clear link to any refund policy on their (The National) site. I was told that no refunds or exchanges period are to be given if a show is to go on. A robotic answer from a poorly trained customer service agent. I asked him who their boss was and he gave me a contact number for the management offices of the parent company The NorVA [redacted]. Oddly enough the NorVA is listed as based in Norfolk, VA (in The Hampton Roads Area) and after three attempts to call them I can only presume they are not at work for the same reason I cannot make it to my show, the weather.Desired Settlement: I understand that a venue does not like to refund tickets late in the game because they can lose money if they don't sell the slots but they should also understand that certain circumstances are uncontrollable, beyond anyone. At the very least I desire a credit towards a future show at their venues. I would also like them to train their bone head robots at the box office to ask more questions or do some more critical thinking when it comes to taking care of customers. I will say I am not surprised by the whole situation but I am certainly not impressed with the business either.
