The Neighborhood Do It Guy

If I could give Burrows zero stars, I would; he doesn't deserve even 1. He is a poor excuse for a businessman, and people should think twice about asking him to do anything around their homes.

I contacted him because he did leave a baggie of gravel in a Ziploc on my driveway along with a flyer full of information that got my attention. I asked him about replacing two slats at the peak of my roof that had been blown down during a previous storm. He sent one of his "worker bees" out who told me it was an easy fix and would cost $70. So, his guy came and put the slats up, BUT HE PUT THEM IN UPSIDE DOWN. All he had to do was look at how the older ones were situated and do the same thing. After sending multiple texts to his worker, who said he'd be back, I am still left with slats that are upside down. I contacted John many, many times to no avail. He will not reply.

I paid for a service, the service was faulty, and now I cannot even resort to filing a complaint because he doesn't have a license.

Homeowners BEWARE the baggie...

Whoever think's it's ok to advertise their business by throwing bags full of pebbles and a leaflet into people's driveways, needs to get their head checked. Some of these bags of pebbles have noticeably bounced off of parked cars. John B should be fined for littering, rather than receiving anybodies business.

SCAMMER. We hired this guy back in 2014 to just paint porch pickets. The left me with an unsightly paint job that we had to go back and re-do. They also put textured paint where it should have been smooth paint and then looked me in the eyes and tell me they used the right paint. I would NEVER hire this guy for anything.

. THIS MAN/COMPANY IS NOT LEGIT. He does not have a business license in Charleston City or County under either his name or business....should have checked that before. He does not show up on jobs, he sends men out without measuring tools or forms for estimates. He advertises 100% customer satisfaction if you pay for it. I had to buy material which means he does not have business discounts as most do where the price would reflect it. I was told after I agreed over phone some time later what I needed to get including gates...guess what Gates are not sold through Lowe's they sell kits to use to make the gates, said a crew would be there and get it completed in 3 days. At the end of 3 days, fence not finished or straight or level, corner behind the shed meets at the bottom and spreads out to nearly 6" at top. I have a panel over the area they decided to put rear gate after I had told them where I wanted about 16' earlier so hose could go straight through "Charles (lead of team) said that area was too difficult. Then Charles says they do not know how to build gates so John will have to come on Saturday for another day of payment...at this point I said I wasn't paying another day because they did not finish. And my husband sent 38 pictures to John who forwarded to Mr W. John was very apologetic and tried several times to get Mr W to do the right thing. Sadly even though the judge let him keep the money she did admonish him for how bad it looked ...suddenly he could fix the fence and do gates in ONE DAY no guessing which is what he kept saying for another 325.00, then he indicated by saying at this point (legal system takes a little time)he did not know what we may have done to fence and then he was afraid to send his guys out to our house.. Really. My husband works 5 days a week so it would be me at all of 115 lbs., he was afraid because he knew he could not do it in a day.
