I am rejecting this response because:The room was not "fine". The smell of cigarettes was disgusting (a non-smoking room), the heater was filthy, there were cigarette butts stuck in holes in the bathroom, the chest of drawers in Room #(my sister's room) was falling apart and broken and the mattress pads were in shreds. The place is completely unacceptable.Again, I would like a refund for my room and my sister's room as we would not spend a second night in that place!For the record, I have NOT "called them multiple times" - I have NEVER called them since checking out of that dump. They keep calling me however, asking what they can do. I tell them they can refund my money for the second night. He says he can't do that. So why does HE keep calling ME?? (He just called AGAIN on 1/2/15).I have no idea what this statement is supposed to mean "The family that stayed with us did not have any issues." WHAT FAMILY???

Business states that they have gone ahead and refunded the customer. The money was put back on the card that was used  and it should take 3-5 business days to show up on the account.

Review: I am writing about a stay at the Nevada City Inn, Nevada City, Ca on December 2, 2014. I had reserved two nights based on the (mis)representation online. It looked cute and charming. It was neither. The room was filthy. It reeked of cigarette smoke, though it was a no smoking room. There were cigarette butts stuck in the holes in the bathroom. There was a very unsavory group of people smoking POT outside our room. After one night, I was out of there! I asked for a refund of the second night. The manager refused. I wrote a letter to the Heritage Hotel Group (parent company) on 12/9. The same manager from the Inn called today, 12/10. He again refused to refund my money. He said he was not responsible for what his guests were smoking (what, he cant call the cops?). When I told him the room reeked of cigarette smoke and about the cigarette butts jammed in the holes, he asked if I could prove it. Prove a smell??? How about going in to the room and smelling it for himself? Gee, I neglected to take a picture of the cigarette butts jammed in the holes.He kept insisting that I stayed two nights. I did not and he asked if I could prove that. I can. I have the receipt from the Best Western in Grass Valley that my husband and I moved to. My sister was also involved in this. She also moved to the Best Western. She was out $100 for the second night and we were out $67, but it was such a disgusting dump we couldnt stay there another minute.I am again asking for a refund of our $67. and my sisters $100.This place needs to be inspected by the Health Department and have the police drop by occasionally to keep the pot smoking down!Desired Settlement: Refund of $67. to me and $100. refund to my sister.

Review: This complaint not only has to do with product issues, but it also has to do with false advertising and customer service issues. My husband and I reserved a room here believing that this hotel was another hotel in the area, The [redacted]. Once we realized it was not the hotel we had believed it had been, we called [redacted] to ask to cancel our reservation. The Nevada City Inn refused to let us cancel. We arrived at the Inn and asked again, if we could cancel. The manager stated "no." We went into our reserved room and noticed it was not clean, the bed was tilted and uncomfortable and there was a piece of plywood in place of an actual window in the bathroom. There was a crack in the piece of plywood that you could see through. The window had been broken in the bathroom and instead of replacing the window, they put up a piece of plywood that could easily be removed. We did not feel safe staying in a room with no secure window. Also, while sitting in the room for the 5 minutes that we were in there, the manager and another employee began yelling right outside of our window. We both agreed we couldn't stay and told the manager we were leaving. He refused to refund our money and really had no response to us whatsoever. The customer service was extremely poor and they were extremely un-professional on every level. We also did not feel safe staying there. We ended up getting a room somewhere else that night. The next day we visited the [redacted], which was the Inn that we thought the Nevada City Inn was. The owner explained to me that she has had numerous people tell her the exact same thing about their experience with Nevada City Inn and that they too, were under the impression that the Nevada City Inn was the [redacted] due to the pictures on the Nevada City Inn website. She explained that the Nevada City Inn has used the [redacted] photos on their website and they currently have a cease and desist order because of false advertising. We hope that nobody else experiences what we have!Desired Settlement: We don't want anybody else to ever experience what we have with this place. The rooms were filthy, the management and employees were extremely un-professional and they use false advertising to make money. They should no longer be in business and the entire place needs to be re-vamped, with new ownership and management.
