I am responding in regards to ID [redacted]. The customer, [redacted], was scheduled for an appointment for a state inspection on the day of the incident. After the technician, completed the state safety inspection, the vehicle failed inspection. There were a number of issues that would need...

resolved prior to the vehicle being able to pass the state safety inspection. Those issues included: 2rotors, 1-ball joint, front brake pads, 2-wheel seals, 4-bearings, 2-upper ball joints, Sway bar links. The customer agreed to have the work completed. The customer was also made aware that the lower control arm may need replaced but wouldn't know for sure until the other parts were removed. The customer acknowledged this also. The customer was on the property the entire time of the repairs to his vehicle. Once it was determined that the lower control arm was a necessary replacement, the customer was then made aware, including the cost. At this point, the customer agreed to have replacement done. The part was not available until the next business day. At this point, I, [redacted] the owner, agreed to allow [redacted] to borrow my personal vehicle at no cost for use or fuel so that he had means of transportation until his repairs were complete. The customer returned the next business day and was shown the issue with the lower control arm and why it was necessary to have this additional work completed. He returned the borrowed and paid his balance without any question.Included are copies of his invoice and also an estimate for costs and labor through the [redacted] website. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach me at [redacted].Sincerely,[redacted]Neil P[redacted]

Very few things in his statement are true. When I took my truck in (March 31) I was told it needs ball joints and was given a price of $665 inspected and out the door. No mention of any other parts needed.
I made an appointment for April 13th dropped off my truck and walked into town stopping at the uni mart and the post office before heading to the library to spend the 5 hours needed to replace my ball joints. (So I was not on the property like you said).
Upon returning I found out you had replaced parts without my knowledge or permission. When I paid my bill (I need my truck to get to work) I did complain to the person that totaled my bill and asked to speak with the owner (not there) and asked to have him call me (he never did). I also returned at a later date to speak with the owner (told he's not here) and left my name and number again for a the owner to call me (never did) in addition to phone calls I made to the business.
The bottom line here is how this interaction was handled was both illegal and unethical.
Attached is my estimate for the work to be done on my truck and the price list from [redacted] for the unauthorized parts.

To whom it may concern:I am responding in regards to ID [redacted]. The customer is welcome to bring his vehicle back to have the new part, that he claims he didn't okay, taken off and replaced with his part. At which time, the vehicle will no longer pass inspection due to safety and therefore we must also remove the inspection sticker that we placed on the vehicle after completing the inspection. If he wishes to do so, he can call to make an appointment to have this work completed and at which time, he will be reimburse for the part and the cost of the sticker. Labor for the inspection is charged whether a vehicle passes or fails inspection as posted. If you have any further questions, please feel free to reach me at [redacted].Sincerely,Neil P[redacted]
