Review: On August [redacted] of 2015, I decided I could no longer afford to attend the New York Film Academy. I had already paid a $1026.50 deposit, but I requested a refund for this money. I emailed three different times with three different people and called Michael K[redacted] three separate times about this issue before I was guided to a person named Ma. This person told me to fill out three forms and return them in order to receive my refund, which I did. I understood that there was a $100 registration fee that I was non-refundable. So, I should've been refunded $926.50. However, today I got a tax form in the mail stating that the New York Film Academy had kept my $1000 dollars and that I could claim this in my tax return.
Perhaps $1000 is not much to a business like the New York Film Academy, but that is more than a months rent for me. I don't know if this is even a lot of money to whoever is going to read this, and maybe no one will actually care and I'm writing this all in vain. This amount is a lot of money for me, and it saddens me that a school thinks it's okay to take this much money away from an individual who didn't even attend their classes or use any of their resources. I can't say this is unbelievable, but it definitely affects my life in a negative way.Desired Settlement: I just want the $926.50 refund I thought I was getting after several emails, phone calls and forms.

In short, the complainant requested a refund for a course she signed up for in the amount of $926.50. Even though NYFA was under no legal obligation to do so, the money has since been refunded to her. The reason it took so long is because she never sent back the documents sent to her by NYFA in order to process her refund. I hope this will suffice to close the complaint. [redacted].
