Review: On Tuesday July 08, 2014 I took my car to The Nobles Tire & Auto Repair Center (located at [redacted], PA [redacted]) to have my serpentine belt and air conditioner belt replaced and repaired, as they tore in mid transit en route to my destination. Upon discovery I immediately pulled into their facility around 11:45am. I spoke with Mr. Dave N[redacted] Sr. who handled the total transaction. He left the shop for approximately 2 hours and came back to begin working on my vehicle. At this point he began trying to do additional work, unrelated to the incident. Several hours later he said I needed a new alternator. At this point he quoted me at $387.97. I had a friend come into the store at this time to check on the progress of this work and Mr. N[redacted] stated that I now needed a new radiator and that may fix the problem. I asked him how much he would charge me and he said the part was priced at $96 and because I had the other jobs done he would only charge me an additional $60 to my total. I waited until about 11pm that night and he still was unable to fully diagnose the alleged problem unassociated with the torn belts. At this point my car was leaking fluids, overheating and smoking under the hood. He then told me he would keep the car overnight and perform some additional test to ensure that he would be capable of actually diagnosing the problem. I asked him to call me early in the morning as soon as the test was performed he agreed to do this at 10am 07/09/14. He went further to say if the test didn’t give a good read it would mean that I may need a new engine or replace my head gasket.

On July 09, 2014, I waited to hear from Mr. N[redacted] regarding the prognosis and/or progress of my vehicle. I waited for his call at 10:00am, a call that did not happen, so I decided to call him at 10:33am. He told me the test was not yet performed. When I inquired about when it would be performed he said, as early as possible and he would make sure to call me. As the day ensued it was getting closer to the closing of his business hours, and I have not yet heard anything from Mr. N[redacted]. I called him again at 5:10pm he still did not give a clear and concise answer regarding my vehicle therefore I decided not to let him pursue any further. I asked him what was my total and he said $638. I asked him to explain where the additional charges came from, and he informed me that is was due to the radiator, I reminded him of what he quoted me yet the numbers didn’t add up correctly. He then got angry with me and began to be belligerent and disrespectful, he blamed me for missing his sons birthday, and alleged that he put me in front of another customer, and also said if he knew this job would have taken this long and been this much hell he wouldn’t have agreed to it. I felt as though Mr. N[redacted] was taking advantage of me, after further research I tried to solidify a ride and tow for my vehicle. I called Mr. N[redacted] back the same evening and let him know I would have my car towed in the morning and I told him we needed to come to an understanding regarding the total payment and for him to break down all the charges. He did not give all the pertinent details of services rendered and he would not agree to give me any copies of receipts for products he allegedly ordered. He then said he would take out the new radiator he allegedly purchased and installed. And he said my total would be $387.97.

On July 10, 2014, I arrived with a witness and my tow service in front of his facility at 9:15am. I greeted Mr. N[redacted] and asked him for the keys, he said after I paid in full. I gave him my credit card and he billed me to total amount. The keys were given to the tow truck person and I patiently waited several minutes. The tow truck guy already put my vehicle on the truck and proceeded to leave. I informed Mr. N[redacted] that I needed to be there to meet the tow truck at the next destination. I signed the receipt and asked for a copy, I asked for the old parts that were removed and he did not give me either. He told me I needed to sign an agreement he drafted himself in order to receive a copy of my receipt. I said why do I need to sign anything other than the credit card receipt if you were just paid in full. He continued to not give me anything, I took the credit card receipt I signed and left his facility. The tow truck took my car to another mechanic shop where upon arrival they discovered almost immediately that the jobs performed by Mr. N[redacted] were done incorrectly, faulty and with the wrong materials. It was also discovered that my fluids were drained.

Unfortunately, the services rendered were not performed well and were inadequate. I am disappointed because Mr. N[redacted] presented himself as an auto tech professional and he was anything but. Mr. N[redacted] took advantage me and billed me for services he did not correctly execute. I was billed an exorbitant amount of money and I want justice; Mr. N[redacted] not only misrepresented the issues but the prices and was not clear and concise about how he could have fixed the issue. He had more than enough time to at the very least diagnose the problem but I believe he was stalling to make up work unrelated to the original problem.Desired Settlement: To resolve the problem, I would appreciate a full refund in the amount of $387.97 and possibly more pending any damages my vehicle may have suffered in the care of Mr. N[redacted] facility.
