Had hoped to business with this company A lot of empty promises, no follow up, nothing but excuses whenever we could get up with them Would never recommend

Despite numerous attempts to have this company perform work for me, they seem to have totally ignored me. Owner will not respond to my requests.On February 5 2014 I asked this company to quote extending a chimney 10'. They provided a quote and on February 6 I asked them to get it done as soon as possible. I have been in contact with them at least weekly ever since, and I cannot reach [redacted], who I'm told is the one working on it. He will not return my calls.On March 19, I told [redacted] (sales) that I needed to close up the chimney chase with sheetrock during the next week, and asked her to please have it done by Tuesday. I got the same response that [redacted] is handling it and that she'd give him the information. Today, March 27th, 7 weeks after accepting their proposal, I closed up the chase without the piping inside. This means that to install the piping, siding will most likely need to be removed. Desired SettlementNC Fireplace should perform the requested work, including removal and replacement to finished condition of any siding or sheetrock necessary for the originally quoted price. More info received from the consumer 2014-04-07NC Fireplace has responded and satisfactorily completed the work. I'd like to rescind the complaint. Thank you!

I paid this company $2964 to install a new fireplace in my home. I cancelled the project after repeated no-shows but they won't refund my deposit.I originally contacted NC Fireplace on August 21, 2013 to request information for a new fireplace installation. I decided to go with another company due to lack of response to emails and phone calls. However, the owner of NC Fireplace called me and apologized for the delays and asked me to reconsider my decision. I agreed and went ahead and put down the 50% deposit that the company required in the amount of $2964.00. I paid this deposit on November 4th on my [redacted] account with [redacted]The owner, [redacted], told me that he could do the installation before the end of the month of November. Unfortunately, I ran into the same problem as before. I never heard from [redacted] after I paid my deposit and the office kept delaying the date of installation. After the third last minute delay/appointment cancellation by the company, I told them I would not be doing business with them after all.I never heard back from the company despite several phone calls and emails to request a full refund of my down payment.I left a message on 12/12/2013 with [redacted] at the company store/office that I would be filing a complaint with the Revdex.com. Later that same day, the owner called and left me a voice message. He stated that he would only refund 75% of my down payment and would also be deducting credit card fee. In addition, the owner also said that I would only get the rest of my money back if they sold the fireplace to someone else. There was never any mention of these refund policies either verbally or in writing to me before. I looked through previous emails and my receipt for my down payment. There is absolutely no mention of anything he mentioned. Currently, I still have not received any refund either partial or otherwise.Desired SettlementI want a full refund of the $2964.
