I am rejecting this response because: MrCummings was informed of my step sons employment and that he filed a tax return on the questionnaire which as required I filled out prior to MrCummings doing my tax return(which I welcome him to provide) He agreed with the amount of his income he could be claimed as a dependentEven though my son lived me and my husband my step sons mother claimed him firstWhich caused the rejectionMrCummings was negligent not notifying me and my husband that our return was rejectedIs this not a paid tax preparers responsibility? Is it approved practice by the California Board of Accountancy that rejections of tax returns do not need to have the tax payer informed? In fact I emailed him in June asking where my return wasHe informed me he didn't notice the rejection because he went on vacationWhether I pay my taxes on time or not does not mean I deserve a late fee because MRCummings went on vacation and didn't do his job which I paid him to do

[redacted] engaged my firm to prepare her and her Husband's 2014 Federal and California income tax returns based on information she provided to me. After preparing the 2014 returns, I emailed electronic signature forms to her on Thursday, April 9th. She signed the authorization forms and...

emailed them back to me late Fridayafternoon on April 10th. I was out of the office and returned on Monday afternoon. I transmitted her tax return on Monday; 4/13/15 email and assisted her with your abatement request. I was unaware of the rejection due to incorrect information she provided to me.[redacted] return was rejected because she informed me she was entitled to claim a dependent on her return, which I did. She later told me, after the discovery of the rejection, that [redacted] had filed his own return, thus the IRS rejection occurred. This was not my wrong doing, rather, hers for attempting to claim a dependent she was not entitled.Additionally, any late filing penalty is based on taxes and unpaid. [redacted] elected not to pay all your taxes during the 2014 year as required by the IRS, thus creating a large under payment when the return was filed. Thus, the late filing penalty was her wrong doing on two accounts. 1st, she elected not to pay her taxes timely as required by the IRS and 2nd, trying to claim a dependent she was not entitled to claim. The tax returns in question were prepared accurately and correctly based on the information provided to me, thus, nothing I did created the tax return rejection and penalty amount.Sincerely,Keith Cummings
