I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me.  I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Review: The Omni Homestead made a mistake that has led to unauthorized charges on my credit card and my account being frozen. An initial reservation was made by a friend for two rooms. The deposit for the rooms was $431.00 each. At check-in, my credit card was used for one room and the other person in my party placed a card down for charges in the other. Upon check-out, I had a folio that reflected the total amount due for my stay that I signed. My friend did the same for the other room. Days later, my friend noticed that she did not receive a refund for the initial deposit for my room reflected on her credit card statement. She called the hotel to inquire and they stated that the credit was reflected on my folio at check out. It was NOT. My folio reflected the total amount for my stay. When my friend disputed the charge with her credit card company, management at the hotel decided to recoup the loss by charging my card without my authorization and knowledge. I only learned of attempts to charge my card through my friend, who was sent my hotel folio with details of my expenditures and payments via email. This is a direct violation of my privacy. Upon check-in, it is the hotel's responsibility to obtain the correct contact information for the person staying in the room and who is responsible for the bill. They DID NOT. Instead, management used the contact information for the person who originally made the reservation. Hotel management thought that it was perfectly within their right to knowingly send my personal information and charge my credit card without my authorization and knowledge. In the age of identity theft, it is never acceptable to send someone's information without permission, even if the individual is "suspected" to be a friend or relative. Yet, management is not contrite despite their errors. Instead, they continue to harass me about the remaining balance, despite the fact my card was frozen because of their unauthorized charges. This behavior is unacceptable for any business.Desired Settlement: I want Omni to leave me alone.
