Anchor Hocking strives to understand and resolve all product issues We will as a onetime courtesy honor Ms*** request for a “TrueFit” dish and cover Because she is unable to return her “Essentials” dishes and covers we suggest donating to a charity of her choice. The original tote should be kept as the “TrueFit” offering does not include a tote We hope Ms*** enjoys her replacement dish and cover and looks to Anchor Hocking for her future glassware purchases ANCHOR HOCKING COMPANY Marianne J*** Supervisor Consumer Affairs

offerings available.  We are proud of our
products and responsiveness to our consumer questions and concerns.  We strive to understand and resolve all

issues.
Our records show we received one email
from [redacted] dated Saturday February 6, 2016, regarding a plastic
item.  We apologize for the delay in our
response. However all questions and concerns are answered in order received and
as permitted in our work day.
Anchor Hocking was not the manufacturers of
Mr. [redacted]’s plastic product.  This
product was manufactured by Anchor Hocking Plastic.  Anchor Plastic was acquired by Newell
Rubbermaid in 1987.  Newell sold the
plastic company a few years after purchasing.   Unfortunately we have no additional information
on Anchor Hocking Plastic and if the company still exist today.
May we suggest Mr. [redacted] check the internet
for information on Anchor Hocking Plastic and for his requested information.
Sincerely,

The
material used in glass bakeware in the market place today is known as soda lime
glass, which has been subjected to a manufacturing process known as
tempering.  It is the same process used
to produce tempered safety glass found in many windows or glass shower doors,
etc.  A characteristic common to this
glass is the manner in which it breaks.
It will generally break into many smaller rounded pieces, some larger,
which are less likely to cause serious injury. Although this method of failure
can sometimes be unsettling, it is specifically made this way to protect
the consumer.   A warning on our
Care/Use/Warranty and ovenware packaging describes this mode of failure.

We
received an email from Ms. [redacted] on Wednesday, June 17, at 10:07 am regarding
the problem she experienced with her bakeware.
We responded within  3 working days on June, 22, 2015 at 10:08
am.  We explained the method of failure for tempered bakeware and asked for
the glass to be returned for product analysis.  We have had no response from her until your
message.  If Ms. [redacted] will please
refer to our Care/Use/Warranty information we also state, do not dispose of damaged
product, as we may request it be returned.
Unfortunately, without having the glass we are unable to determine the cause of
the incident and to verify we were the manufacturer of the baking dish.

Due to the glass not being available for
product analysis we are unable to offer finical compensation.  However because we would like Ms. [redacted] to
use Anchor Hocking products under separate cover we have sent a 3 quart baking dish,
“Manchester” beverageware and “Presence” cake set with  our compliments.  She may expect delivery within the next few
weeks.
If
we may be of further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact our office.

Anchor Hocking strives to maintain high quality standards to produce the finest glassware and provide the best accessories available.   Ms. [redacted] contacted us on August 11, 2017 regarding a problem she was experiencing with her baking dish and cover.  She asked for a “TrueFit”...

cover to be sent because she could not use her “Essential” bakeware dish and cover.  We explained the “TrueFit” cover would not fit her “Essential” baking dish.  Additionally she wanted a tote for her bakeware and the “TrueFit” product offering does offer a tote.   Because we wanted to determine the cause of the problem she was experiencing with our product we asked for the original dish and cover to be returned (postage paid by us) for product analysis.  Additionally a hand selected “Essential” replacement baking dish and cover was sent with our compliments. We also listed she could return the original dish and cover in her replacement packaging.  To date we have not received the original product.   Again, the replacement dish and cover sent to Ms. [redacted] was hand selected and tested for lid fit before shipping. We are sorry she is unhappy with our replacement offering. Because the “TrueFit” cover will not fit her dish and does come with a tote, if she will return her receipt of purchase to the address listed below we will refund her purchase price.  If the receipt is not available the MSRP price will be issued.   We apologize for the inconvenience in this matter and if we may be of further assistance please feel free to contact our office.   ANCHOR HOCKING COMPANY                                         ...   Marianne Ja[redacted]                                  ... Thank you for contacting Anchor Hocking regarding an incident [redacted] experienced with her bakeware product.   For over a hundred and ten years Anchor Hocking has strived to maintain high standards to provide the finest products available in the marketplace today and in the future. ...

We received and responded to an email Ms. [redacted] sent on December 7, 2016.  In our message we mentioned bakeware in the market place today is soda lime glass, which has been subjected to a manufacturing process known as tempering.  A characteristic common to this glass is the manner in which it breaks.  It will break into many smaller rounded pieces (some larger), which are less likely to cause serious injury.  Tempered glassware is also a more durable glass and for forty years tempering has been in the home we have had less than 0.002% of failures from the millions and millions of baking dishes that have been sold.  A warning on our Care/Use/Warranty and bakeware packaging describes this mode of failure.   Without having the opportunity to inspect the baking dish, we are unable to determine the cause of the breakage or whether the product involved in this incident is in fact an Anchor Hocking product. Often, similar products manufactured by other entities are improperly identified as Anchor Hocking.  Additionally our Care/Use/Warranty information states, do not dispose of damaged product, as we may request it be returned.    Due to the glass not being available for product analysis we are unable to offer compensation as requested.  However because we would like Ms. [redacted] to use Anchor Hocking products if she will contact us with her address (NO PO BOX) we will ship a beverageware and servingware set with our compliments.   Finally, Anchor Hocking is deeply committed to manufacturing safe bakeware products.  Based on our extensive research and testing tempered soda-lime-silicate glass bakeware has an excellent safety and customer satisfaction record.   Sincerely,   ANCHOR HOCKING COMPANY   Marianne J[redacted] Supervisor Consumer Affairs 519 Pierce Ave Lancaster, OH 43130

They never sent a postage page label for me to return the item.   This is a design flaw in every one of these lids, not just mine.  The woman I conversed with was going to send  me a new dish with the True Fit lid.  I know the True fit lid does not work on the other dish.  I know what I was told.  I have  spent way too much time on this issue. Send a postage page label (even though I still have to repackage and take to thepost office).   Also, please send a new dish with the True Fit lid.The dish and lid that come with the insulated packing are designed poorly and none of the lids works well and are ex tremely hard to remove.  I have tried many of them in the store.   This is bad customer service!!!!!

Anchor Hocking has received Ms.
[redacted] response to our letter regarding the problem she experienced with her
baking dish.

As mentioned previously the material
used in glass ovenware in the market place today is soda lime glass, which has
been subjected to a manufacturing process known as tempering.  A characteristic common to this glass is the
manner in which it breaks.  It will break
into many smaller rounded pieces (some larger), which are less likely to cause
serious injury.  Tempered glassware is also a more durable glass and for over thirty five
years that tempering has been in the home we have had less than 0.002% of failures
from the millions and millions of baking dishes that have been sold.   Beside the durability and safety
there is no lead or harmful chemicals in our glassware.  Without doubt Anchor Hocking’s ovenware is an
extraordinarily safe and consumer healthy product found in the market place
today.

Without
having the opportunity to inspect the baking dish, we are unable to determine the
cause of the breakage or whether the product involved in this incident is in
fact an Anchor Hocking product. Often, similar products manufactured by other
entities are improperly identified as Anchor Hocking.  Our Care/Use/Warranty information states, do
not dispose of damaged product, as we may request it be returned.

if
Ms. [redacted] has the receipt of purchase for the bakeware she may return the
receipt to my attention at the address listed below.  She may also include her food loss
expense.  As a courtesy we will reimburse
her dish replacement and food loss expenses.

We
are sorry Ms. [redacted] has also declined our offer for Anchor Hocking products.  If she should decide she would like the
products offered she may contact us and they will be issued with our
compliments.

Sincerely,
