BUYERS BEWARE-To Whomever is considering doing business with the Outdoor Toy Store in Caron City NV. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME!! I was in negotiations with [redacted] at the Outdoor Toy Store on the 2010 Lance 850 Camper he listed on CL. We had been talking and getting the details worked out on the camper since Monday. I made an offer on the camper to be presented to the seller. As the sellers agent [redacted] never contacted the seller with my offer. I did not hear back from [redacted] so I called to follow up. [redacted] told me he sold it to someone who made a higher offer, well after I made an offer. Again without even bringing my offer to the seller or giving his seller a chance to counter. During our conversation it was very apparent, once [redacted] does not need your business, he becomes extremely rude and arrogant. My opinion is, [redacted] is a below board business man and will do whatever it takes to take advantage of customers to line his pockets. If he did it to me, he will do it to you.. BEWAREProduct_Or_Service: [redacted]Desired SettlementN/ABusiness Response This complaint is not true. This customer called me on a ad asking details & pricing on a consignment unit,(2010 [redacted] over camper). I explained to him that it was priced at $16,500 as detailed in the ad. He then asked what I thought the seller would take. I told him based on my last conversation with the seller that he may go as low as 15K but we would have to put a deal together. I did not hear back for a week then got a call from him saying that he would like to make an offer of $14,000. and wants his truck outfitted with camper tie downs approximately $750 - $1,000, to be included in the 14K. That being said, most people that make a big purchase like this, will come down to see it before they buy. In this case there was no deposit, a week lapse of time (in which I called him with no response), no paperwork signed, no email, fax or any other written form of communication to formalize a deal. He said he made an offer on a Monday - not true. He called me on a Wednesday and made a follow up call on a Thursday. when he called me on Thursday he was calling to follow up on his "supposed offer". I told him someone had come in and put a deposit down. He then proceeded to tell me that we had a deal. I explained to him that was not how we do business, that he hadn't even come from CA to see the camper or put something down in writing along with a deposit. He then made verbal threats saying "that social media will kill a business". Then he called the owner of my company making false accusations stating that I told him "cash is king". he did not know that at that time my boss was standing there listening to the whole conversation. Shortly after this I received several calls making verbal offers of that same amount from various CA numbers including one from his wife. I then called him back to let him know that the customer who had the deposit and offer on the unit - had backed out and that the unit was now available and was he still interested. He told me that even at a price of $16,500. it was still a god price. He then told me that he had his wife and several of his friends make me offers to see if I was lying to him. After this conversation we started to receive a flood of hang up calls from private numbers. Consumer Response (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)As much as I would like to put this behind me,I do not agree with the response. The time line, communication, and verbal response outlined in the reply is not completely accurate. This entire situation took place over a five day period. Monday, my first call at 9;10 am to Thursday 8:47 am when I made my offer. Friday, after not hearing back from the sales person on my offer, I called to follow up on the sellers response. At that time I was told someone else purchased the unit Thursday pm after I made my offer, which was never presented to the seller. Actually, I was told that the unit sold at a much higher price than I offered as a package deal. Yes, I did ask what price he thought the seller would accept, however, I am entitled to make my own decision as to what price and services I would like to package as my initial offer. The seller can certainly counter the offer. It is not the responsibility of the person who has a consignment unit to make those decisions. It is the owners choice. The sales person listed on the ad and myself spoke everyday sometimes two to three times a day. I was in constant contact with him, even asking him to contact the seller to see if any warranty work had been completed on the unit. There was never a hidden agenda on my part. The sales person was fully aware I was from Ca. I was never asked to give a deposit or sign any documentation. Nor would I. I would never put a deposit on something that I was buying when I have no idea what I am paying for it. Nor would I sign anything to the same for the same reason. Although, I did tell the sales person many times, I was a cash buyer. I can only assume that with all our conversations the sales person knew I was serious about the purchase. When I called on Friday to follow up on my offer and only after the attitude of the sales person turned 180, did I start this process. At that time I also called the owner of the company to discuss. The response is correct in that I did have people call to put their name in the list. I wanted the unit. And yes, I did not trust that they were being truthful. For the record, the following Tuesday, the owner and I spoke and he said that, "I had his word that if the current buyers deal fell through, I would have first choice on the unit". Their deal did fall through, low and behold, I never heard from them. However, the people I knew on the list were getting calls saying the unit is available again and did they want to make an offer. And, the owner of the unit wants his full asking price, very suspicious. After placing several calls to the owner, I received a call from the sales person saying the owner asked him to call me. At that time the sales person informed me the unit was available and the owner wants the full asking price. I did say, it is a fair price however, after everything I have been through with them and the fact that I do not trust them, at the full asking price, I would pass on the unit.
