June 2018 I hired *** who owns The Painters Brush painting service to do some exterior painting. He has ***, who is his assistant. She also does his talking for him for everything. They came to see the job and quote on it. *** came in the house with us and quoted $700 to paint a stripe on the awning, the shutters, the shed, the deck and to put an entrance door under the deck for the crawl space and put wood on the bottom of the deck. I asked her opinion on the grey shade I should use. She said she would meet my husband at Home Depot to get the paint as she knew what to get. We all agreed to everything.
The next day we asked for a quote for painting the front porch,both doors and to build a rail for the back stairs. *** said $150.00, we agreed. All painting was to be two coats.
*** met my husband Byron at Home Depot, picked out the paint and he paid for it, and the wood.
After the first day they wanted money. I gave them $500. They also brought *** to work with them. It was hot out and we gave them Pepsi and Brisk ice tea on more than one occasion. My next door neighbors also gave them bottled water. This painting took longer than it should have. They made their own hours and days.
They only put one coat of paint on the doors, they did not scrape shutters before painting, they did not use a primer on the rusty shed and it bled right thru the paint from the get go. They did not finish painting the shed even one coat.we did ask them to paint the mailbox and a small seat only plastic bench, they did. They did not prep the deck before painting. I also expected them to use a grey stain paint on the deck as *** said but they put 100% acrylic latex on it.
Again they wanted money, $300 and were coming over to get it. We ended up giving $200 to *** who was upset that it wasn't $300. Byron showed her the shutters, the shed, the doors and she said they would finish the work. They did not come back. They were mad that we didn't give them the last of the money.

Refund We had to buy paint and primer for the shed and do it right. The paint is peeling off The deck floor. The doors need another coat or two now. The shutters need to be done correctly. This all costs money of which I've already paid. Now I have to hire someone else to finish this. Since I already paid Shane and company for it and they didn't do it, they should reimburse me to pay someone else to do it.
