When I received the notice that there was possibly a car with over-spray on it, I made it a priority to get there, and I was there with the owner of the car in less that two hours She does have over-spray on her car, but it is not paint I explained to her that there was either a lacquer or urethane on her car, and it covers all of the car The over-spray is clear It is very easy to see due to the fact that the car is black, and you can see the black paint of the car right through the spots of over-spray The paint that we are using to re-paint the neighborhood is light tan, and dark tan, so that would also be very easy to see the color if it was our paint that is on her car Also, when she noticed that there was over-spray on her car, it was due to the layer of dust on her car She thought that the dust was paint, and when she rubbed it, under the dust was the rough layer of clear over-spray She said that she had not driven the car earlier that day due to the fact that she was home from work sick If we had gotten any paint on her car, it would have been sitting on the top of the dust Also, When she noticed the car at about 1:pm, my painter was painting house #** She parks her car at house #** That is two complete carports away There was no wind at all on the day that the complaint was made The owner of the car had her car parked right next to her mothers car in the same carport Her mothers car has no over-spray on it at all, but her car has over-spray all down the side of the car that was right next to her mothers car When I pointed this out to her, she said that her mother had arrived just after noon She did not know that before that time, the only employees on the job were the two preppers My painter was doing touch-ups on another job in south [redacted] until 10:am, and did not arrive onsite until 11:or so He then helped the preppers cover the cars that were too close with plastic to protect them, and then set up the equipment to start painting on unit # Even if her mother arrived right at noon, there was no painting taking place until at least 12:** With her moms car right next to hers, how did her car get a clear over-spray all the way down to the running boards between the two cars, and her mothers car has nothing at all on it? We would gladly pay to fix the problem if the problem had been caused by us She was not interested in the explanation of how she had over-spray, but it was from some other location that was spraying some sort of clear product Once again, her car does have over-spray on it, but it is not paint It is some kind of clear product, and we are not painting the buildings with clear, we are using light and dark tan color of paint Furthermore, if there had been wind that day, her car was far enough away that it would have had to blow the paint toward her car This would have resulted in one side, and a little bit on the top of the car getting over-spray on it She has a clear over-spray on 100% of her car

Review: the company had workers at our apartments complex and while painting the property my car was coated in a fine mist of paint (body and glass). talked to management at [redacted]. he came out and and looked at my car. he told me it was paint but couldn't be from them. and maybe I drove through something. I told him I had not gone any where. he again stated it wasn't their paint.. and that they would not be responsible for the cost to have the paint removed from the car. I feel they should pay the cost of having this resolved as they were the ones painting the complex.Desired Settlement: pay for cost to have paint removed from entire car.

Response:

When I received the notice that there was possibly a car with over-spray on it, I made it a priority to get there, and I was there with the owner of the car in less that two hours. She does have over-spray on her car, but it is not paint. I explained to her that there was either a lacquer or urethane on her car, and it covers all of the car. The over-spray is clear. It is very easy to see due to the fact that the car is black, and you can see the black paint of the car right through the spots of over-spray. The paint that we are using to re-paint the neighborhood is light tan, and dark tan, so that would also be very easy to see the color if it was our paint that is on her car. Also, when she noticed that there was over-spray on her car, it was due to the layer of dust on her car. She thought that the dust was paint, and when she rubbed it, under the dust was the rough layer of clear over-spray. She said that she had not driven the car earlier that day due to the fact that she was home from work sick. If we had gotten any paint on her car, it would have been sitting on the top of the dust. Also, When she noticed the car at about 1:00 pm, my painter was painting house #**. She parks her car at house #**. That is two complete carports away. There was no wind at all on the day that the complaint was made. The owner of the car had her car parked right next to her mothers car in the same carport. Her mothers car has no over-spray on it at all, but her car has over-spray all down the side of the car that was right next to her mothers car. When I pointed this out to her, she said that her mother had arrived just after noon. She did not know that before that time, the only employees on the job were the two preppers. My painter was doing touch-ups on another job in south [redacted] until 10:45 am, and did not arrive onsite until 11:20 or so. He then helped the preppers cover the cars that were too close with plastic to protect them, and then set up the equipment to start painting on unit #31. Even if her mother arrived right at noon, there was no painting taking place until at least 12:**. With her moms car right next to hers, how did her car get a clear over-spray all the way down to the running boards between the two cars, and her mothers car has nothing at all on it? We would gladly pay to fix the problem if the problem had been caused by us. She was not interested in the explanation of how she had over-spray, but it was from some other location that was spraying some sort of clear product. Once again, her car does have over-spray on it, but it is not paint. It is some kind of clear product, and we are not painting the buildings with clear, we are using light and dark tan color of paint. Furthermore, if there had been wind that day, her car was far enough away that it would have had to blow the paint toward her car. This would have resulted in one side, and a little bit on the top of the car getting over-spray on it. She has a clear over-spray on 100% of her car.
