The Party Peple Reviews (1)

Review: Over the past several weeks we have made numerous requests to meet with Maryanne to discuss our concerns with the inadequacy of the services that she provided during the September 20 wedding of [redacted] and [redacted]. Because she refused to meet with us, or to provide us with the courtesy of returning our telephone calls or text messages, we must resort to more formal communications. We first met with her in the fall of 2013 to discuss our requirements for the wedding. We showed her pictures of what we wanted, and because of her assurances that she could provide these specific items, we provided her with a $1,000 check on September 9, 2014. Unfortunately, and despite having over 1 year to prepare for this wedding, she failed to provide all of the services that she promised, and much of what was provided was of poor quality and well below our expectations. For example, as we told her in September 2013 and reiterated several times over the course of the following year, the brides bouquet was to be a focal point of the wedding and created using the specific flowers depicted in a picture that we gave to her. She failed to provide those flowers. Instead, she delivered different flowers and used a glue gun and permanent markers in an attempt to make them look like the ones that we ordered.Similarly, the flowers that she provided for the grooms boutonnire were dead, also colored with a permanent marker, and of such poor quality that they had to be replaced with flowers from the brides bouquet. And, the grandmothers flowers were torn and browning. Moreover, several of the items that she provided were not what we agreed upon: the altar flowers were in bronze tin containers instead of bronze pitchers; the votive candles were white instead of ivory; the centerpieces did not contain the maidenhair that we agreed upon and, in fact, contained two flowers that we specifically directed not be used; and the ceiling-drapery linens were riddled with stains. It was only communicated to us that the white roses were wrong on September 18, 2014. She assured us in the voicemail that the flowers would be sent back and the new flowers would be sent the next day. It was not communicated to us that anything else was wrong until the day before the wedding, September 19, 2014. Finally, my father paid the remaining balance of $88.52 with his debit card when he returned the day of the wedding to pick up the flowers and return items that were incorrect. We were charged for these items that were returned, to include tulle drapes (we specifically directed that linen, and not tulle, be used) and table skirts (the wrong size). Therefore, the total we paid was $1,088.52. We have not received any compensation for items that were not used or simply not as originally promised. We have tried repeatedly to discuss and resolve these issues with her. Although she initially apologized for breaching our agreement and offered us the use of a timeshare as compensation, she have subsequently refused to return our numerous telephone calls and text messages in order to set up a common meeting time. My father and I came into the store in order to return the remainder of the rentals and tried to meet with her again on October 4th, 2014, attempting to resolve the issue, but she was not willing to communicate with us. This is both unprofessional and unacceptable. We expect a refund for those services that she promised to provide but failed to deliver, for those items that were of poor quality, and for those items that were returned before the wedding and never used. Accordingly, we asked her through a formal letter to please contact us on or before October 16, 2014 so that we could schedule a meeting to discuss and resolve this matter. Maryanne contacted my father through text message on October 13th, 2014. She stated that she was not working with us but would communicate with him. She met with him on October 24th, 2014 at her store. Though Maryanne did meet with my father, she was unwilling to compensate for the materials we did not use or the items that were not as we had originally discussed.Desired Settlement: There were alterations to written agreement that was originally discussed with Maryanne at our final meeting. We expect compensation or partial refund in the amount of $609.00. Description is attached and pictures of these items are able to be presented if needed.
