[redacted] To whom it may concern, In response to the complaint, I would like to take the opportunity to speak on the behalf of myself, and all of the Penalty Box employeesWe take pride in our work and strive for the up most professionalism at all timesI apologize for the poor service, and any inconvenience that it has causedIn regards to the problem at hand, we do have a policy of a $minimum charge when using cardsHowever this is not a concrete rule and does not apply to everyone and every situationThe reason this policy was put in place, is to reduce the amount of transactions per patronEvery transaction there is a small flat fee, and if for example one patron buys five drinks and pays for each drink sepreatly, then we get charged the fee five separate timesOver a year these small fees combine to a rather large chargeSo we put the card minimum in place to minimize this as much as possibleHowever if a patron just wants to buy one drink, then he/she is more than welcome to do soFirst off we want everybody to enjoy themselves, and by no means do we want people to feel they need to spend a certain amount of money, second off it would be very irresponcible of us to force someone to drink $dollars worth of liquor, as it would lead to over serving which is something we try to minimizeMy employees should know this, and I will personally make sure that everyone is on the same page so this does not happen againIt is in my understanding that the outstanding amount in question is $I will personally re-fund the full amount, and do everything in my power to resolve this situationWhile we strive for perfection, mistakes are bound to happen, and I hope we can resolve this situationThank you for your understanding, and if there is any other constructive criticism; please feel free to let me knowWe are always striving to grow as a business, and anything we can do in order to make it better.Best, [redacted] ***General manager The Penalty Box

This response is in regard to complaint ID ***.The company has not resolved my dispute, nor has the company even addressed the original matter surrounding the dispute.To put it quite simply my issue is that the company violated their merchant agreement with *** that Debit Cards shall not be subject to any minimum purchase requirements that are imposed in association with Credit Cards and the Dodd-Frank laws of In addition, my challenge to their staff resulted in me becoming the recipient of verbal abuse.In the business response I would first like to point out that the respondent for the company does not address that Debit Cards and Credit Cards are in fact, different In fact, he openly claims that, “we do have a policy of a $minimum charge when using cards.” This means their company policy applies to all cards, an open acknowledgement which serves to prove both his lack of understanding and an ongoing issue of openly violating their own merchant agreement.Furthermore, the business attempts to propose a resolution of refunding the $in question However, my request was not that the entire amount be refunded but instead that 1) the owner of the company needs to educate the staff that there is a difference between Credit Cards and Debit Cards and that minimum charges may not apply to Debit Cards and 2) that I be refunded the difference of my original tab $and the minimum charge $that was applied In either manner, the business has made no attempt to refund any part of this disputed charge to date.Regards,*** ** ***

However this is not a concrete rule and does not apply to everyone and every situation. The reason this policy was put in place, is to reduce the amount of transactions per patron.
