The Perfect Dress Reviews (1)

Review: I made my first down payment in March 2013. I then sent them a letter regarding the last payment in October. When I received my November statement, nothing had been deducted yet. In November I sent in another letter stating to please apply payment to my account. After that, I received a receipt to please sign for the charges. I have now made a full payment and the company refuses to release the product stating that I have forfeited it. However, I never was made aware that the products had already arrived and that they were at the store.

Response:

[redacted] Ordered her gown and veil on 3/16/13 (see event summary) with a wedding date of 8/15/13. She didn't have enough for the deposit (which is 60% down) and only gave us $705.00 which does not even cover our cost of the gown and veil if something were to go south with this wedding. The deposit amount should have been 510242.20. She signed a contract that states (see her contract) that if merchandise is not picked up within days of the event she will lose all merchandise and deposits. We don’t ever want to see things get to this point but-we could not get hold of [redacted]

Her gown came in on 5/13/13 and we called [redacted] with the number she provided and the phone was disconnected which is usually a bad sign. We called numerous times until we had to send her a forfeit letter (see front and back of registered return receipt letter). This was on 9/17/13 (see forfeit letter), almost a month after her wedding date. This is not uncommon as many brides pass away, end up in jail or break off the marriage and don't care what happens to the dress. We never heard from her again.

Now she wines in on 11/19/13 to pay off her gown. The cashier should have contacted me so that l could speak to [redacted] about the situation. Instead she took the full amount she owed us. The question l have is why didn't she take her gown home? Even though we donated it to charity, how much longer did she intend on leaving her gown with us? We are not a storage facility. in any case the gown was no longer here. To be fair I propose that [redacted] pays our cost of the gown and veil and we will pay her back the difference. The gown and veil were $1707.53. 60% off that is $1024.52 which is what she should have paid when she ordered the gown. We will send her a check for the difference $683.01 which is the profit we would of made on the gown.

I don't know where or why [redacted] didn't get in touch with us or that it was impossible to get in touch with her. Clearly she didn't care about this gown.
