The Pet Doctor Reviews (2)

The client’s dog was initially presented to DrKelley M*** on June 23, after a night of “bad coughing and panting”The patient had a history of collapsing trachea that was initially diagnosed elsewhereWe had seen her once before at our clinic on 9/23/ She was not on any
medications
When the dog came in on 6/23/16, she was very anxious, panting and had a slightly purple tongueHer breathing was difficult and very loudOne x-ray was taken (on her side, after oxygen) but we could not get a second one (on her back) because of her severe breathing difficultyIt was determined that she had advanced collapsing tracheaShe was sent home with a cough medication and an anti-inflammatory
DrKelley M*** called back the following morning and the client said the dog was doing much better and her breathing was better and hadn’t coughed since the visitFive days later (6/27/16), the client called back asking the doctor to call her back because her dog was “breathing funny”She was told to come inWhen the dog arrived she was very stressed, frantic and in severe respiratory distressAnother chest x-ray was performed (at the owner’s request) and acute airway (laryngeal) collapse was diagnosedThe patient was given injections to help remove fluid and inflammation from her airwaySupplemental oxygen was given and the patient was kept at the clinic for monitoringHer condition improved moderatelyThe client was told that her dog’s prognosis was guarded and that she may continue to worsenShe was told to keep her calm and cool and to go to the emergency veterinary clinic if neededShe was prescribed more medications with the hope that they may help her condition.
DrKelley M*** called the client the next day and was told the dog was doing better, breathing easier, and that her tongue was pink The client said she was picking up one of the prescriptions at a pharmacy that day. The owner called back the next day (6/29/16) telling us that her dog had diedI (DrLinda D***) spoke with herShe was very distraught and upset- understandably soI explained to her the likely reason that her dog died was from complete airway collapseI told her I was not entirely surprised because of how severe her previous signs had beenShe said she was not informed about the severity of the condition and that her pet could die from itI apologized to her and expressed my condolences for her loss.
The treatment and cost of treatment was warranted and appropriate Unfortunately though, the dog progressed rapidly to a severe state despite attempts to help manage itSadly, this sometimes happens with this condition.
Sincerely,DrLinda L D***The Pet Doctor

Complaint: [redacted]I am rejecting this response because:Sincerely,[redacted]
I am not accepting this response, because the Pet
Doctor, Vet. kept telling me that my dog was going to be fine.
She just kept lying and lying about my pets condition, I do not feel that my pet was given the proper treatment.
After she passed the vet said there were other options to consider, but they did not tell me until after she passed.
I am an 85 year old widow, and do not appreciate the fact that I was lied to and taken advantage of.
