The PGCSA Bad Check Restitution Program

Review: I received a "Third Notice" from this company when no prior notices were given. The notice indicates that I owe $8,480.86 in bad checks, and that I have failed to comply with past notices. However, there were no past notices, and there is no evidence that I owe anything. The State's Attorney's ** County letter head is used, along with the name of the State's Attorney. There is an implied threat of prosecution, but I have not been charged with any crime, nor questioned by the police. It is true that some checks were stolen from our home, and that someone forged me and my wife's signature, but we were able to get the checks stopped. We filed a report with the Bowie police department. It is also true that (apparently) the same party forged further checks on totally fraudulent accounts. However, this company has not sent us prior notices, nor contacted the police to find out that the checks were written by other parties, and that our signatures were falsified.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology, and an acknowledgement that they are trying to coerce me into paying for goods and services that I did not receive, but were received by persons impersonating me. They need to acknowledge that there is no proof that I passed bad checks (because I did not).

Review: I have received a letter form the PGSCA Bad Check Restitution Program PO Box [redacted] MD They have stated to me that I have committed a crime of bad checks in which I didn't. They are threating to send me to jail. They using state attorney letterhead. They also stating in the letter that I had to take a accountability financial class which is 200.00 fee. in fear I had send them the money of 494.00 They are in violation of the fair credit debit act. Also they have charged additional costs which is a total of 494.00Desired Settlement: I would like for them Refund my money and never contact me by phone, email or by mail
