The Pines at Utica Center for Nursing & Rehabilitation We are in receipt of a complaint from ID ***The complainant's is the son of the resident at The Pines at UticaShe was admitted to the Pines at Utica on August 24, Upon admission, the admission agreement and cost of
care was reviewed by the complainantThe Business Office Manager and the Social Worker both met with the complainant on several occasions to discuss payment options. It was explained that the resident would have an insurance co-pay of $on day The complainant was offered free assistance in applying for Medicaid if needed but was refusedThe complainant proposed to the facility that he was only willing to pay $a month instead of the insurance co-pay of $per day co-payHe was informed that this was not acceptableHe continued to insist he would not pay for itAs of this a bill was mailed to the resident for dates of service 9/13/17-9/30/for $2,If the complainant continues to not comply with the admission agreement signed, the facility would have to prepare for legal actionsSincerely, Fortunato S*** *** Administrator

For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. I have entered into no type of formal financial agreement requiring me to pay X amount of dollarsIt is my choice to NOT enter into the Medicaid programThat a demand of a specific dollar amount is offensive to me and I will NOT be coerced nor pressured into an agreement that does not nor ever did existI will make regular payments of $until full settlement of this issue
