To Whom It May Concern:
We received notification that a party was held in apartment on 04/04/Per our records a friend of
the resident was drunk, tripped and fell out the window onto the balcony
We received a work order to repair the windowThe window was boarded as a temporary fix while the window company received an appropriate size glass to temporarily fix the issueWe did have a window project taking place, the east facing windows that have balcony doors were the last to get completed because of the manufacturing time it takes to produce all of those doorsThe sliding door was replaced with the actual upgrade at the end of June/beginning of JulyThere was no way we could leave the apartment with a ply-wood piece until then
As the Property Manager of the building it is our responsibility to correct any issues and ensure that the resident has a habitable apartmentThat is what we didPer the lease agreement, the resident is responsible for any damage caused by them and/or any guestThis charge is something the property incurred based on the damages that the resident's friend caused to the buildingIt was paid to KC Glass and we are seeking reimbursement for such damages
Our previous resident can feel free to contact me directly should he wish to discuss the matter further or create a payment arrangement
Initial Consumer Rebuttal /* (3000, 7, 2015/09/10) */
(The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.)
To the Revdex.com,
Per the lease agreement, the resident is responsible for any damage caused by them and/or any guestThis is correct but is the resident responsible for any temporary as well as the permanent fix (fixing the same thing twice)We had the windows covered with cardboard anyway and the glass company just re-did this with a plywoodI don't think it is fair that I pay both for the temporary and permanent fixAll this was done without even the management knowing about what services were performed and what the cost wasThe
Also, I wonder how the management just accepted the exorbitant labor charge charged by the glass company. This the email excerpt from the manager:
"The window
replacement that took place yesterday is not something you will be billed
forPlease feel free to contact me if you have any questions or concerns." This clearly states that I won't be billed for the window replacement that already took placeStill I am being unfairly billed an exorbitant amount for these servicesI again, request the management to waive the amount that I was charged for services performed upon the the glass company's sole discretion without approval/ knowledge of tenant or management
