Review: My items in pawn were due on May 15 2014. I missed the pawn shop before they closed that evening. I went in on the following day to retrieve my items in pawn entirely, and the female owner said she sold them that morning over the phone, since she said she closed her store that Thursday. She said there was nothing I can do. I mentioned Montana state law has a 30 day grace period from the actual due date of interest, to not sell my items and asked if I could do anything to retrieve my items, and she became verbally aggressive, cursing over the phone. From there I asked her if there was anything I could do and she replied, it was her store and right to sell my items immediately. This conversation took place over her cell phone, since her store was not open. I made several stops by her store that day to pay for my pawn items but her store was not open that day. Her response when I got in touch with her over the phone was unpleasant and offensive in language, she offered no reason why she immediately sold my items and not being at her store to resolve this issue.Desired Settlement: I just wanted to get my tools out for the price of the loan. I was one day late, and I was making several attempts that day to visit the store hoping I can get them out but she wasn't open. I would like to know if I have rights, and if I should consider small claims court to retrieve the amount the tools are valued at. I don't know what I should do about this, besides making a complaint for now.
