The Portage La Prairie Mutual Insurance Company

Portage has denied my claim because my daughter moved to a new province while a student and I did not tell them. I did report the change in information to my agent. They however deny that informing my agent is sufficient. To me I would think that an agent of the company is an "AGENT' therefore they act on behalf of the company. I am now on the line for my retirement savings. Why would they take my premium and then deny me coverage? What am I paying for every year? From what I have found from reading other reviews and court cases, Portage has a history of this type of business practice.
