Review: On 1/24/15, I dropped off antique victrola for packing and shipping from CDA to Costa Mesa CA. Clerk advised it would need special packaging - did see any problem or issues. 1/28/15, paid $266.56 and she advised package would be delivered on 2/3/15. Insured package/declared value $500. Package arrived 2/3/15 - legs cracked, one leg completely broken, glass/mirrors shattered, top broken (have pictures).on/24/15, called and sent pictures to the PostBox and they opened claim with FedEx. FedEx closed claim and sent the PostBox a check on 2/13/2015. I have called repeatedly through out process, and have never rec'd status. I have called 2-3 times requesting owner to call me with status. Owner never returned any calls. I went to store on 2/25/15 and owner was not in. Again asked the status - clerk advised she didn't know. Asked again for owner to call and provide status. No call back.Throughout the process, this business has not taken any responsibility or ownership for my damaged package. This antique has been in our family for over 30 years and was a birthday gift for my son. The above item was not packaged and shipped sufficiently e.g., item not marked fragile, this end up, etc. The picture show skid marks on side of box where it was moved sideways. There was not special packaging which I assumed I paid for...I want a refund for the shipment cost $266.56 and the $500 declared value.Desired Settlement: I would like an apology for the shoddy service and lack of communication.I want $766.56 refunded immediately listed under complaint description. I know FedEx paid there portion on 2/13/2015.
