The owners and general manager were trying to handle the situation accordingly to no avail.? There was simply no talking to the customer to resolve the issue at hand.? We did speak to the customer two days ago and have rectified the situationWe are refunding the customer's payment by corporate check which will be in the mail today, 5-3-2018.It is unfortunate that the customer never received the gift certificate that was purchased.? The gift certificate was never returned to the restaurant either.? Everything was handled and processed to procedure on our end but we have no control of the postal service once we put something in the mail.We hope this puts closure to this matter
Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below The fact that the business falsely advertised the promotion is not in disputeI paid for the gift certificates that I purchasedI received certificatesTheir advertisement specified no restrictions at allThat is very miss leading if not illegal The gift certificates listed many restrictions however another was added only after we purchased our mealA very poor business practice and an illegal behaviorI do not accept the business's response! Copy of certificate attachedWhere does it say only one may be used per diner? They need to correct their practices and honor their promotions [To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.] Regards, [redacted]

In response to this complaint. This was a complimentary gift certificate promotion. There was no money actually paid for the gift certificate. There are restrictions on them for they are promotional. I would give no allowances at the restaurant due to that fact. The
gift certificates are one per person to redeem as it has been for all the years this promotion has ran. We did allow them to us per person so they saved $on a bill that would have been $97. Customer wanted to pay for the whole meal with complimentary gift certificates. No business would stay in business if they followed that business practice
Dear Mr***.As stated to you at the restaurant the promotional gift certificates are just that. They were complimentary with restrictions and hold no cash value. It is apparent that you may not have taken advantage of the Christmas in November promotion where you pay for the $gift certificate and the $is a complimentary gift and does have restrictions clearly stated. As in any business, retail or restaurant, you can not use a stack of promotional items to pay for a complete order, and or meal. Promotions are usually an unwritten given, one per customer. There are restrictions on our complimentary gift certificate, which legally we can do because the customer does not pay for them. As a business we certainly do not want to upset our customers. We work vey hard within our restaurant and community to uphold the highest customer/business relationship. The restaurant has been running this promotion for many years. Next year we will be sure it does say per customer. Unfortunately in an age where consumers will find every loophole possible we continually have to add restrictions so occurrences like this do not happen. I will refund you the value remaining from your guest check minus the complimentary gift certificates already used, minus gratuity and tax. We hope you will find this acceptable. As stated before, the free gift certificate is complimentary and holds no cash value. The gift certificates purchased by you, the $hold their value as that and their are no restrictions and can be used freely at any time at our restaurant. We apologize you did not understand the terms of the promotion

I would like you to know that when my wife phoned Mr. Steve F[redacted] he laughed when we told him the certificate did not arrive and hung up on my wife. When I phoned and spoke with Mr. Tim A[redacted] he did the same. Laughed about the postal service and said there was nothing they could do and hung up. After I filed a complaint with the Revdex.com, Mr. F[redacted] phoned me within two hours of the complaint and said we are hoping the certificate is returned to sender . He told me they have a copy of the certificate and there may be something they can do. Well, I have not received the certificate and I have not received a call back. All I ask for is my money back. I ask is that the Red Osier refund my money. They did not provide me with a service and have not sent me the certificate that I have purchased in good faith. Instead they where rude, inconsiderate and did not provide the service I have paid for.

The fact that the business falsely advertised the promotion is not in dispute. I paid 250.00 for the gift certificates that I purchased. I received 5 20.00 certificates. Their advertisement specified no restrictions at all. That is very miss leading if not illegal. The gift certificates listed many restrictions however another was added only after we purchased our meal. A very poor business practice and an illegal behavior. I do not accept the business's response! Copy of certificate attached. Where does it say only one may be used per diner? They need to correct their practices and honor their promotions.
