To whom it may concern:In response to complaint ID ***, policy numbers *** and *** insured *** *** have been processed. Unfortunately, when a power of attorney document is involved it does take a little longer to process request because the documents have to
reviewed thoroughly. This is to protect our customers.Policies *** and *** insured *** ***. The correct policyowner of these policies is *** ***. We have copies of the application and it does not specify that anyone else other than the insured is the owner. Also there is no record of any change to the policyowner since the policy issued. For an individual other that the insured to be the policyowner, it must be specified in the original application or either submitted in under a Policy Change Request after the policy is issued.There are options for Mrs*** on policies *** and ***. First option would be for *** *** to sign a Request for Policy Value form to cash surrender the policies however this option would send the check made to *** ***.The second option is doing a Policy Change Request to change the ownership from *** *** to *** ***. Both *** *** and *** *** would need to sign. Once the ownership is changed, *** *** can then sign and submit a Request for Policy Value form.
