Complaint10/31/13 I called The Remedy Allure Hair Spa to schedule an appointment with [redacted], co-owner/Master Stylist, for crochet braids. I spoke with [redacted] salon manager/receptionist. During the call, I asked for the price of the service and said I would be bringing hair. [redacted] asked [redacted] the price. [redacted] told me the service would cost $150.11/1/13 [redacted] was late for the appointment. [redacted] who I thought was a trained shampoo person, shampooed and conditioned my hair and placed me under the drier. Once [redacted] arrived and washed out the conditioner, I learned my hair was tangled. It took some time for [redacted] to untangle my hair. I didn't come to the salon with tangled hair. [redacted] said it tangled because the shed hair was not removed before the hair was washed. Once the braids were installed and I was checking out, [redacted] said the price is $220. I explained to her that when I called I was told the service would cost $150. She insisted she had done a lot of work, braids cost more when natural hair is used, $150 is the starting price and that there was a sheet that said $220. [redacted] would not honor the $150 I was told and was expecting to pay. When [redacted] walked away, [redacted] quietly said she remembered speaking with me and that [redacted] had told her $150. I felt I was being robbed and taken advantage of and there was nothing I could do. The braids were already installed and I could not refuse them at that point. I didn't know what else I could do expect pay the extra $70. I paid the $220.Later, I discovered the braids were poorly installed. There were gaps without braids. I was unhappy with the look of the braids. I have since had the problem corrected by someone else.6/19/12 [redacted] charged me $100 for crochet braids. At that time the salon was called New Image Natural Hair Salon. During the 2012 visit I received wonderful customer service and the braids looked great. It was an experience the exact opposite of my 2013 visit.Product_Or_Service: Crochet BraidsDesired SettlementI would like to be refunded the extra $70.Business Response In Response to The complaint from Ms.[redacted], Ms. [redacted] never expressed any dissatisfation about her services rendered. She did question her pricing and I explained to her that the prices started at $150 and went up,also during her serivce I explained to Ms. [redacted] that her service would be addional due to the tangled state of her hair, and the length of her hair plus the cost of the deep conditioning. I have photographs of her services as we went along showing her length and texture. Also photos of her being satisfied after her service. Ms. [redacted] also brought in different hair. The original length was 20-22inch hair. She brought in shorter hair 16 inch and I explained that there may be slippage. I told her that if she purchased the longer length hair that I would adjust it for her. I also discussed maintainence with her and she left smiling. Ms. [redacted] never called to say she was upset, however her mother called in the next day. Upset and yelling. She was very rude and did not give us a chance to provide any type of customer service. Ms. [redacted] stated that she has always received great service here with me, and we would like to continue Having a great relationship with Ms. [redacted]. We Honor our clients and had no idea she felt that way. Her mother went from one extreme to another and if she would have called herself we would have gladly come up with a simple and pleasing solution for all parties involved. We ask that Ms. [redacted] give us a call and we will gladly speak with her to fairly resolve the matter. Also Ms. [redacted] never spoke with [redacted] have not worked here for 3 months. I assume her mother has made this complaint and looked on our website for names.Consumer Response Soon after the salon received my complaint from the Revdex.com [redacted], the salon lead owner, called me. She was very calm, professional and easy to talk to. She listened to everything I had to say about my experience. By the end of our conversation I felt extremely better because someone who was able to provide resolution carefully listened and offered to rectify the situation. [redacted] offered $70 of free services or a refund of the $70. I chose the $70. Today I picked up the $70 check. My experience with [redacted] was professional and reassuring. I am completely satisfied with this solution and I consider the matter fully resolved. I would like to thank [redacted] and the Revdex.com for all of your help.
