To whom it may concern:This letter is in response to the above mentioned complaint number. The presence of divots or lowareas in flat concrete work is normal, this was explained to the customer and two individual trips to thecustomer’s residence were made. The 14x14 pad that was poured is adjacent to a previously existingpad and the slope of that pad had to be followed with the newly poured concrete pad. We asked if ademonstration could be done on the driveway showing that there are low spots on it as well, thecustomer’s wife said no. The customer was offered a $400 refund to resolve the issue. And if need be,the company is ready to defend itself in court over this matter.ThBruce C[redacted],

The owner is correct when he states he had to pour the 14x14 concrete next to an existing pad. However his crew did not maintain the correct slope away from the residence. This could have been easily completed during the initial measuring by including the existing pad in the whole area measured and by obviously staying level next to the existing pad and creating more of a gradual slope as you move away from the existing pad.  (2 14x14 concrete pads, 1 existing and the new pad). When sloped and poured correctly, water should flow away from your residence. In my case, water on the new pad flows towards my residence and the old pad. This has caused major puddling next to my back door. The owner stated he would build me a wall to keep the water from flowing into my residence. I stated "no." He then stated he would remove the calk between the new and existing pad which would cause the puddling water to drain by running down this caulk line. His worker did remove the caulk, but this did not work and now just fills with water as well.  As far as a demonstration on my driveway, I have no puddling issues on my driveway. And how would puddling on an area that was poured over 16 years ago be relevant to a brand new concrete pad that was just completed by his company.
