In mid August 2014 [redacted] (unknown last name) brought his black Honda to the car wash for car wash service. His vehicle was washed like all other cars and he told the car washer to concentrate on the front bumper due to the excessive amounts of insects baked unto the body. The car washer did his job as normal and concentrated on the area specified by Albert. His vehicle was completed and [redacted] paid and left the business.
[redacted] later returned with an unknown female stating that we scratched the front bumper to his vehicle. They were both very upset and the demanded to speak to the owners. The Manager on scene tried to help them but they refused to speak to her. The service Manager also tried helping them but they demanded to speak to the owners. I am one of the owners, but I nor the other two owners were unavailable at the time since we all have regular jobs elsewhere.
[redacted] spoke to our car washer and told him he scratched the vehicle. Our car washer informed him there was no possible way for him scratching the vehicle and he noticed the vehicle was already scratched while in the washing stage. [redacted] told him that 2 weeks earlier he had just painted the front end of his vehicle, which included the front bumper. Our car washer explained to him that he needed to wait about 1 month after painting his vehicle prior to washing, especially in the high humidity of the Imperial Valley during the month of August. The paint takes longer to thoroughly dry. [redacted] insisted the car washer scratched the vehicle and left since he only wanted to speak with the owner.
On August 26, 2014 I called [redacted] and heard his complaint. He also mentioned to me that he just recently painted his vehicle. I asked him why the vehicle had no other scratch marks on any other portion of the car. [redacted] stated he did not know, but his vehicle being recently painted was irreverent. I told him we would be unable to repair his vehicle because we strongly believe we were not responsible for the damage since there was no way of us knowing the recently painted vehicle and the car washer said the vehicle already had those scratches. [redacted] stated he would take us to court.
I also looked at our records and the only other complaint we have ever received regarding a damaged or scratched vehicle was from [redacted]

Review: My vehicle was severely scratched at The Rub carwash. When I asked to speak with the owner they refused to give me any information and was told that the owners were unable to speak with me at that time. After several days I was finally able to speak with one of the owners in regards with repairing the damages. He said he would contact me at a later time to make arrangements. He then did contact me and told me they were not responsible and would not pay.Desired Settlement: I took my vehicle in for a quote on the damages which total 690.00. It will take 4 days to repair so I would also need a rental for those days.
